With Anderson out of the picture, who’s the new basic AR-15? It’s actually still Anderson… sort of.

Bushmaster
Lot of people don’t know this but for decades, Anderson make uppers and lowers fit a lot of big companies: Daniel defense, bushmaster, SW uppers, the early rock river days, PWS, early noveske days, DTI, early PSA days and even made some components for colt. At one point they were make close to 1 million different branded lowers and even more uppers. If you have an older AR bought from 2000-2010-11-ish, look on your lower receiver for a random small raised triangle. If you find one it’s a proofing mark for Anderson. If it’s a square it’s moores machine. They were basically Anderson on a smaller scale that focused primarily on barrels but made a lot of uppers and some lowers too.
S&W???
If i grt asked that question, i dont really think of the manufacture. More the like the features. Basic ar15 in my mind is the picatinny flat top M4 style with FSP and BUIS or the m16 with FSP and carry handle rear sight.
An Olympic 16in was my first at 18 yrs old.
Rugar, PSA, Smith, Radical Firearms
PSA
PSA doesn’t cut any deals for most gun shops so they have to pay the same price that you would.
My Radical Arms was like…400$ and runs perfectly fine
The answer is Ruger 556 lol
they went to one horse lol
still love my anderson
Anderson lower knights upper gang
Diamondback DB15
How about M&P15? I never hear them mentioned, or the FPC in PCC, but I bought the FPC for my son and it’s a sweet gun!! Not sure why SW always gets left out, including in 9mm, 40 and 45 acp.
Got my AM-15, right before they sold to Ruger, married it up with DD Ris 2 upper ❤
If you’re reading this comment and looking at getting your first AR. Save up just a little bit more and get a BCM complete upper and a cheap PSA complete lower. We’re talking $850 to $900 if you wait for sales and you’ll have 10x the rifle.
PSA 100%
Check out Kulas’s $900 billet milled AR!
So no m&p 2.0??
i recently got a psa 16 inch m4 carbine
For 99% of shooters a basic/beginner AR is all they need and they will never wear it out.
My beginner AR was Radical Firearms 7.62×39 I still have it and I love it.
I beleive beginner level refers to the majority of Ar15 owners. I have many in many configurations and many differnt manufacture ar's from having 600 beans in them to some that got into the 2 to 3 grand range.
They all have a purpose some for sure over lap. Im just in the camp if one of my lower priced ar's goes down or jams just pick up the next one and so forth.
The vast majority of owners need one for pertection and will not be in 600 round firefights so to speak. So a lower priced ar that functions for 3 or 400 rounds at the practice range will work for them in any situation they would encounter and dont need a specialized rifle.
Most of these will be used once a year for the range and if something goes bad they probably will be used with less rounds than a magazine will hold so more than adequate for most.
Me still having 3 stripped in box Andersons
Laughs in anderson am15
I wish i could've bought anderson lowers when they were around
R.I.P. to the poverty pony 😢😢
Why do beginner-tier ARs matter so much? Wouldn't buying a BCM rifle be more financially efficient in the long run?
For a better ruger get the ruger mpr.
Michael Jackson spin!!!
Radical Socom
Recently bought a Ruger Harrier. No complaints.
