They should stop describing barrels as being able to shoot "X" number of rounds before wearing out, and tell people it would cost them $25,000 of ammunition to do so instead.
How about the Modern Material Patrol Rifle AR15? What do you think of that one?
Ruger Mpr is good enough or anything around that price and save money for an optic. Stop listening to the ar snobs because you will never think you have one good enough if you do.
the Radical is now almost 700. Also I worked at SiG, they run at 100% to pump out as many guns as they can. So no it's not just cheaper guns.
My MP15 is 6k round in with no issue but I have changed the BCG to nickel boron and I have a PSA upper I keep as a spare the PSA is 11.5" so it doesnt get shot as much
Was wondering why the Springfield Saint didn't make your list ??
I started out with AR's about 7-8 yrs ago. Took a class at my LGS on building lower receivers.
Started buying kits from PSA (Palmetto State Armory)and built probably 10-12 in 5.56×45 and a couple in 7.62×39(including AR pistols). Bought an ATI 9mm ar pistol and an Armalite AR10.
But as far as AR "15's", I'm perfectly happy with EVERYTHING I'm bought from PSA (including my Dagger).
I had "1" problem with a PSA upper about 3-4 yrs ago and it was handled quickly and professionally. They took care of everything and I had it back in "6" days. I consider that "Great Service". Veteran owned and operated and committed to putting quality firearms in the hands of as many Law Abiding American Citizens as possible. You can put together a PSA AR for about $500. But I am starting to pick up a couple of Nickel Boron BCG's.
And personally, "I" prefer the A2 front sight post. There's NO Prolem running an optic plus you have the bayonet lug. (I have bayonets)
I got the M400 Tread 3 years ago. Fantastic rifle and the ambi features are great as I'm blind in my right eye. The handguard is something I replaced. I swapped it with the 15" Sig handguard with mlok/heat relief slits down the entire length as opposed to the factory handguard which gets really hot after 4 or so mags. Aside from that, a great entry level AR. It's a very accurate and reliable firearm.
You have a black mouth cur! We got ours by accident in 2018. Just the easiest dog I’ve ever had. I’m a huge fan! We call him our personal therapist. 😄 Cheers!
My first was an LWRC IC-SPR. Not what you call entry level or basic. It's full ambi but I didn't see that as an issue using non-ambi control systems on other platforms.
I shopped for a while before buying the Zion-15. I shot a lot of rifles at the range before choosing it, but when I picked it up and shouldered it, I knew I wanted it. After firing a few mags through it, I was completely hooked. I put an O ring between the upper and lower, and now it shoots like a much more expensive rifle. A friend with a Daniel Defense AR-15 was blown away when he shot the same group with my Zion at 100yds.
Let's not forget bear Creek arsenal. Awesome gun for the money!
PSA $549 price and quality unmatched.
good video thank you..
What’s the difference from mid length and carbine length?
Mine was a Smith & Wesson M&P15 TS with a 16 inch barrel
my first AR was a smith/wesson M&P. Paid just under $600 for it back in 2018. Its a decent rifle for what it is. Ive since built all the rest of the ones I have but I still have that one.
Don't buy an AR. Build your own.
I need help to buy my firts AR right now I am between m400 tread 5.56 and the ruger nato 5.56 mlok both are 16
What's your thoughts on the coat AR
I bought the iwi rifle and for the money I love it
PSA hands down for $400.
Toss the radical frist….
I got the radical rf-15. The exact one you showed. had it 2 years now. And still no problems
I have the Sig M400 and I love it. Definitely nailed it on this list! Great rifles!
1000% vouch for IWI Zion15. I have two. They put perform rifles double their price. Street price I paid was $769.00. Mine came with B5 furniture as well. Great value.
I really like the depth in the review considering pros and cons for each too. I don't think I've heard anyone talk about barrel steel and machining quality. The details like this really matter in a comparison. Straight and to the point. I'll have to check out the AR-556
I have several PSA AR, and they are running just fine. So far I haven't known anyone that leaves an AR as they come from stock.
800 is not entry level. 800-1300 is mid tier 1500-2500 is upper tier.
Sport 2s you can get them 499-599.
Noway would I buy a SIG m400. Handguard is crap and midgrade priced at 800-900. You get into 1k-1.2k you are better off byying a complete lower and upper on sale. Complete Geissle Super Duty upper (with BCG and CH handle) is 999 and a co.plete upper from aero runs 200 on sale. Or do a Daniel defense complete upper on it. Bithe build are 1200. Or just buy the Super Duty for 1499 on sale.
PSA runs $350 now. This is an old info.
Great video question how do change the stock on the radical ar-15 ?
The shop owner would probably jump over the counter if you field-striped the AR…. I even asked politely can I dry fire!
Good job explaining them.
Whatever you do, don’t drop the bolt! Be polite to the fudds & boomers!
IWI Zion is definitely the best of these entry level. Anything under that is hot trash. The Sabre line from PSA are great entry level AR’s. But the best entry level AR15 would be BCM or LWRC Discovery hands down. The tread is trash, the Ruger is meh,Radical is pleb tier and break all the time. Only one from the videos list I’d ever feel good about recommending as an entry level AR is the Zion. The M&P is a hard maybe. If people would just save up a few hundred more beans they could skip the bullshit and just get a good mid tier, reliable rifle instead of having trash that’ll likely malfunction or break in a SHTF scenario. Another company to look for if your fixed in being a poverty dweller is Androcorp entry level ARs. But unless you make less than someone in the Philippines, you can absolutely afford better rifles.
He speaks the truth. Loving my Ruger mpr. Runs flawless and no problems whatsoever.
Love my Radical Firearms AR, you can easily find them under $400 and they run great. If you're shopping for a AR under $700, don't worry about the steel the barrel is made out of, you're probably under the poverty line like me and you'll not be able to afford the amount of ammo necessary to wear out your barrel for a long while. Barrel wear is something middle class and high class people have to worry about, people who can afford dropping $500 dollars every range visit.
The Ruger AR-556MPR Was My Very First AR-15 Rifle Purchase Back in 2018!!! I Placed a Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x LPVO and a B.C.M. KAG Foregrip On It. The 18" Barrel With 5R Rifling With 77gr Match Ammo It's a Great Shooting AR For The $$$
My first AR-15 is a 16" Diamondback. Got it for like 630 out the door. It absolutely shocked me how well it runs for the price versus other rifles twice the price
Very nice Rhodesian Ridgeback. Great friend
I will say that while there might be ideal first guns, any AR that isn't actively dangerous to shoot and doesn't jam is a solid first AR, because even ones with annoyances or suboptimal parts can teach a lot. Hell, I'd even throw the PSA Freedom series in the mix, they periodically run sales where you can get a full AR for under $400 and it is perfectly cromulent as a first gun, backup gun, "I need a new bangstick, but don't want the wife to kill me" purchase, etc.
Happy accident that I stumbled onto this video.
I am a first time AR buyer.
Thanks for the info
First time ar shopper, really appreciate your insight
Im 15 and obviously can't get one just yet, but will these be good options for when i turn of age?
No PSA? That's clearly the best option for entry level.
The Ruger AR556 is the best gun on that table. Cold hammer forged chrome lined 18" barrel and carrier. The Sig doesn't have it. The IWI doesn't have it. Both cost more. It's an easy choice.
I choose IWI 12,5. Instaled SSA-E from giessle, mbus3 from magpul and couldn't be more happier.
