  1. I bought a colt target model a2 and did the same thing with brownells part. Through brownell got 3 prong flash and tear drop forward. Brownell has straight 20 round magazines got 4 of them. I am happy with it

  2. Nice looking rifle.
I guess you don't go to gun shows because all those Vietnam era pistol grips and front hand guards are easy to find.
The correct mag release buttons are out there too as well as the teardrop forward assist plungers.

  3. Thanks for the video. I am buying the had guard based on this video.
I put together a 20", 1:7 twist, melonite barrel, A2 stock. I am not going for the exact look and parts because it does not matter to me. If it did, I would have gone slick side (no FA/POS part), triangular HG from jump street. Never saw a green or brown one. I was SP in the USAF and only had black.
I just want the barrel length, the look and feel of an M16. Mine shoots fricking great, accurate, soft shooting. I am about to order the triangular HGs (I bought a PSA 20" upper, came with round HGs) from Brownells, just looking around for any show stopping issues.
I want faster twist rates for heavier ammo also. While 1:8 is my favorite, they are harder to come by, especially for the price I paid for the complete upper, $216 shipped to my front door. Bought A2 butt stock, Anderson stripped lower, Anderson trigger FCG (silver, forgot what the part kit name was). The FCG polished up easily and shoots smoother than any other rifle I own. Butter smooth with very little take up/creep.

  4. I get so tired of some of these β€œholier than thou” assholes on YouTube!!! He SAID it was NOT a 100% correct clone… just something to have the look and go out and shoot. But some people are too stuck on how β€œperfect” their guns are to appreciate or understand what he clearly said!!! I find it funny that some of these elitist dicks don’t even have a channel or even pictures of their β€œperfect… Colt-original-everything” fucking rifles!!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  5. Your rifle looks great, FortWorthColtGuy! Thank you for sharing, and ignore the obnoxious nit-pickers. You built yourself very nice a retro A1-style shooter.

  6. I just received the RETRO m16 triangular handguard set. Now, I understand that these are injection molded from nylon 6/6 instead of compression molded FRP like the originals. But, it never ceases to amaze me how little people know about how to properly design molded plastic parts. These miserable plastic things are a monument to sink marks and poor gating. I didn't think it possible, but they look even worse than the crappy plastic stock that Hi-Point threw on their 995 carbines. I guess I will end up sanding the F out of these to try to eliminate the ugly sink marks. How embarrassing.

  7. your upper is incorrect…that's a Canadian C7 upper…A1's have no brass deflector…the dust door is also incorrect…rifle supply has the correct door, just swap out the spring as it's too stiff…

  8. just got my pistol grip today…waiting on my buttstock to show…I have NIP Colt handgaurds, so I decided to just keep those, as they are brand new…Just ordered the A1 lower yesterday…I too had an A2 lower, but it was killing me to see it that way…so I finally broke down and bought it
