The dust cover spring is installed upside down. The long arm should be against the cover. The short arm should be against the bolt guide (the so-called upper receiver). Flip it lengthwise.
Watching the video at 2x, as I do most every YT video, makes it look like you’re shooting a full-auto .22.

Great video! I love my M&P 15/22 rifle. Out of all my guns it probably gets shot the most. I wouldn't mind having a pistol version. This Retay would be really handy with it's folding brace. But the S&W has been so reliable, 100% reliable thru no telling how many thousands of rounds. I do know the Retay shotguns are really good. Maybe this is too. Remington Golden was great, then became sketch matic 5000. But still functions better than anything Winchester white box (which is garbage in any caliber).
