  1. In my experience these are the ONLY mags id trust my life to.

    *Lancer L5 and L7 AWM-
    *Magpul gen-2 and gen-3 P-mags- all types.
    *O-kay Surefeed aluminum G.I. mags -sadly no longer available to public. You can find good used examples from Army/Navy. Inspect carefully for cracks or other damage and freshen them up with Magpul yellow followers and Magpul, Springco or other high quality springs installed. Theyre rock solid, lightweight and smooth feeding.
    * D&H aluminum G.I. mags
    *HK steel and aluminum G.I. mags
    * Brownells aluminum G.I. mags

    The following are mags ive personally used and have tested with satisfactory results but others that i respect the opinion of do not like:

    * ETS – ive never had issue with any of mine. They load, feed well and seem very durable but according to some, dont handle extreme cold well.
    * The ONLY ProMag id ever recommend- ProMag RM-30 (Roller Mag)
    Ive personally had zero issues with about half a dozen of these. They load easily, feed well and have been durable but may not handle cold temps or sand and mud as well as some according to others.
    * Troy Battlemag- theyre very lightweight, have smooth sides for easy insertion and retrieval from mag carriers and have great traction where needed. They load easily, feed smoothly and have been reliable and durable BUT…..the floorplate is attached not by a sliding interlock/tongue & groove like all other mags but an absolutely STUPID 3-tab and window type system that while works surprisingly well to hold the mag together even during hard impacts from high falls etc but is practically impossible to dissasemble without permanently damaging the mags. If you use these DO NOT dissassemble them unless you are familiar with the system and have atleast 3 hands and tools.
    Good mags in use, they SUCK for cleaning and maintenance. I bought a case of these damn things before i knew how they were constructed. I use them for training and recreation ONLY. Its a real shame. If it wasnt for the stupid floorplate design theyd be great mags.

    **Magazine Couplers-
    *SafariLand Mag Coupler- these are EXCELLENT! They are for aluminum and steel G.I. mags only. They completely contain the mags at the bottom to cushion and protect the mags in a drop or fall and hold them in staggered formation. They have dust covers/tension relief straps that take tension off the feed lips, protect the top rounds in the mag and keep out dust. Theyre retained by rubber lanyards. An EXCELLENT product! Only $6 or so too!

    **Drum mags
    * Magpul D60- ive owned 4 of these and every one has FAILED! They will suddenly and instantly unload themselves in about 1/4th of a second, sending 60 rounds flying all over the room.
    The only one i have left wont even retain a single round now. Its going back to Magpul like the others.
    Regardless of what others say, ive had 4 of them and they SUCK!
    If you just have to have one use it for recreational shooting ONLY!

    My 2 cents.

  2. That MFT with the window I got one and it’s construction and how smooth it is reloading,the spring is tight and so easy to load definitely better than the magpul gen 2 30 AR-15 mag I bought,it’s almost on par with the magpul windowed gen 3,so far I had no issues with it. I’m waiting on a Lancer I ordered from PA on sale last week looking forward trying it I’ve heard good reviews and the hybrid construction sounds pretty smart and solid so we’ll see.

  3. I like the lancers but if you slap them too hard on an open bolt they will spit a round out and you will get a double feed or even a bolt over ride. I prefer okay industries surefeeds or gen 3 magpuls.

  4. Honestly surprised that more people aren’t talking about them but Daniel defense mags are by far the best in my opinion. Maybe it’s the ones in the bundle pack that I’ve got but I’ve put countless thousands of rounds through them and never had any magic related failures that I can think of. They are a little more expensive but you get a super high quality polymer, 32 rounds (without feeding issues) and in my opinion they look the coolest.

  5. I run 20 round mags. I find im better at rationing my shots when i only have 1 box of ammo in the mag. I do keep a loaded 30 round mag in the safe should a van full of home invaders show up to party.
