I wanted to try to buy an AR-15 and put all the accessories on it like a sling, red dot sight, BUIS, flashlight, etc and have the total cost come out under $1,000. Many people ask for this when they are buying their 1st rifle, or if money is tight and they need a budget rifle. The Palmetto State (PSA) Rifle cost me $500 on a Black Friday Sale last year, and I put an inexpensive Holosun red dot optic on it, a VTAC sling, Magpul BUIS and furniture, a Midwest m-lok Rail, and an INFORCE WML. 1. Been looking for a good article on the SABOTAGE by the US Army's arsenal unit of the M16. Finally found a good one. If you believe that AKs are much more relible weapons and you "trust them with your life" over an AR, read this article for facts.
    https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1981/06/m-16-a-bureaucratic-horror-story/545153/

It also answers the "can you over stabilize a bullet" question, at least for me it does. Always wondered why everything I read stated that you cannot over stabilize a bullet. I always felt it would stay "more stabilized" as it hits flesh, not tumble as quickly.

  2. Trusts Holosun but not PSA LOL.

Yeah PSA has some QC issues. I had one upper that the takedown pin holes were out of spec. I've seen several people have canted front sights.

But I have 3 PSA rifles now and they have been good. I want to put a couple through some classes to test them out. But I think the most important part of owning a rifle is knowing your weapon and how to fix it if it goes down.

  3. Quality control is where the cost savings comes at PSA, and they even allude to that in videos and review responses. Any time anyone has a problem, they always offer to have it sent to them 100% free to be fixed or replaced. With all the great stories about many people getting perfectly functioning PSA stuff, you gotta realize the cost savings comes from somewhere. Seems pretty clear that QC is the cut corner. This is the first time I've heard an audible rattle from a PSA build online at least.

  4. To be fair, he made it very clear that PSA is decent. He just prefers some gucci stuff. Nothing wrong with that. But, IMHO, mil-spec is mil-spec. No reason military or police can’t trust a mil-spec PSA with a high quality optic and good ammo. I think AK operators union proved the reliability. CHF chrome-lined barrel is best for military/contract, but not at all necessary for police and civilian. If police are in a full auto 3 day long firefight, we got a police problem, not a gun parts problem.

  5. Love this MAN'S channel. Superior knowledge, patriot.
Below are my comments not directed to anyone in particular, well maybe to those who feel the need to belong and therefore buy shit they do not need for their actual purposes.
Nope, buy once, cry once is not necessarily bullshit, just a cover story. 99% of shooters DO NOT NEED and will NEVER max out the rifles specs. Ain't going to happen. $800 is the MAX 99% of shooters should spend. I need my rifle to last for no more than 2 magazines, that is in my life time. I will have either stopped the threat or I will have been killed. It will not be used for 10 years of weekly firefights. Maybe one day, I will need it for 10 minutes when the dems/globalists/socialist take over and spark a civil war so they have an excuse.
I am not "running" my rifles at some guy named Gabe or Larry, or whomever. No 1,000 round day in my future. No rolling around in the dirt for a weekend. Nope, I have enough training to be proficient at hitting targets, fixing stoppages, etc.
For those of you who state they had to "replace many parts" you just did a exceptionally shitty job of picking parts.
You point to ultimate shit parts then state anything less than a penis enlarging "X" Mfg, is only for "tier 3" users. Whatever makes you feel good.
I have built two budget rifles using Anderson lowers, Primary Arms, Brownells, and PSA parts. Three years and not a single problem from either. I am not an operator, not a contractor, I am not John Wick or Jason Bourne.
I like a pretty rifle, but it kills me to see guys fret over a scratch on their baby! It is a tool, not jewelry for dating. I can hit the same target as most people proficient with their top end rifle. Might have wider groups, but real world grouping, just as effective.
I can afford a top end rifle, I just like spending my money on bullets. I may break down and get a six8, not because I want to belong to the bearded operators community (native American blood, beard is not an option LOL), but because the caliber is effective and the rifle is built around the cartridge and is future ready.
The same people who spend too much for their "needs" balk at rounds that are .70 to $1.ish. Buy what is best and what will make your budget rifle as well as your "tier-1" rifle more effective. Why no complaints about cheaper bullets? See this all the time on YouTube comment.
No titanium, not needed. No $100+ compensator (these are truly over priced and irritating to fellow shooters). No nickel boron Bolt carrier. A lot of the money is spent on unneeded items that do not make your rifle any more "reliable" than a budget rifles built with known, good, but inexpensive parts.
My self-worth, ego, manhood are not tied to any of my personal possessions. My rifles will do just as good a job as your $2,500. Maybe not as long, or for as many rounds, but for 10 minutes, we are toe to toe.

  6. EP80-ll $19. KMT bcg $49. KMT 5.56 7.5 upper kit $99 sale. Pistol buffer kit $19. KMT lower parts kit $35. Ncstar 2-7×32 used $20. 500 223, 55gr. Armscor fmj. No fails. Couldn't budget PSA. thanks for your service.

  7. Iv shot probably under 1000 thru mine and the only problems iv had was the first 40 rounds of tulla 223 which would hold the bolt back but federal 223 and 5.56 as well as hornady fmj and jhp run without fail thru mine. I first had a 4-12x40mm scope on it, held zero great now I have a primary arms red dot on it. Infact today I'm buying there m4 model, be nice to have another rifle and the gastube on my first one is kinda like 2 feet longish so the time from pulling the trigger to feeling the kick is kinda off so i hope the m4 will be different. And yes I will be replacing the handguard with the quad rail, think I'll put the scope back on the old one.

  8. I have 5 psa builds . All of my guns have ran with absolutely no problems including shooting steel cases stuff . I have shot a minimum 1000 rounds out of all of them . Also bought a psa ks47 and it so far has ran trouble free ! Not sure what’s going on with yours .

  9. Spending more money is not a guarantee of a better product. If you really know your AR stuff, then you know that  their are only a few manufacturers of the major AR parts, and they make the parts for all the different brands. So today they make a Daniel Defense lower, and tomorrow, they are stamping a different logo on that same lower for a bargain brand. So don't act a fool and think that paying more means you are getting more. The only thing you are guaranteed of getting is Gucci bragging rights. Also, I'd rather have a budget build and use the difference on ammo, so I can train. A safe queen does me no good… Oh and by the way, if you look for the premium barrels on PSA's website, you will find out that they are made by FN, just sayin', not too shabby for a budget AR…

  10. Has no idea what's on his rifle let alone its specs, but doesn't stop him from bashing it anyway. Buyer beware, come on man. I'm all for quality but that doesn't always mean you have to drop big cheese to get it. I have zero doubts about ur operator skills but I do question your technical gun knowledge.

  11. I got a stag arms 14.5 ar with 200 federal 5.56 rounds plus all of these goodies for 1300$ out the door… new to the ar platform is this an OK deal ?!?!

    VG6 Epsilon Compensator
    14.5” Chrome Lined Barrel
    Nickel Boron BCG Bolt
    Nickel Boron 2-stage Trigger
    Enhanced Trigger Guard
    Magpul Pistol & Vertical Grip
    Magpul MBUS Sights
    SB Tactical SBM4 Brace w/Pouch
    2 OK SureFeed 10rd Mags

  12. Did I miss something? Reliability was mentioned for the PSA AR a few times. How many rounds were put through this rifle? And how many failures and types of failures were experienced? All I heard was he purchased a budget rifle and didn't like the feel of it.
