The Kentucky General Assembly adjourned Sine Die yesterday, marking the end of the 2026 legislative session.

During the session, lawmakers considered several measures impacting the rights of Kentucky gun owners. Notably, no anti-Second Amendment legislation was enacted this year.

Two pro-Second Amendment measures were passed and enacted over the Governor’s veto. House Bill 78 provides critical liability protections for firearm industry members from third-party misuse of products they manufacture or sell, preventing anti-gun groups from filing frivolous lawsuits in an effort to bankrupt the firearms industry. House Bill 312 creates provisional concealed carry permits for 18-20 year olds.

NRA-ILA thanks lawmakers who supported these measures and stood in defense of the Second Amendment.

NRA-ILA will return to Frankfort for the 2027 legislative session. Please stay tuned to your email inbox and www.NRAILA.org for further updates.
