  1. PSA base rifle 140.38 + 377.97
Primary Arms⁩ SLX 3-18x ACSS optic 378.88 (used)
Originally we factored in a 89.99 ⁨Primary Arms⁩ SLX mount, but I lost it during assembly so I substituted it with a PLX mount that I had on hand. Sorry I know I should have acquired another SLX series mount instead but ehhhhhhhhh

Stuff that would have bumped it over
    MDT bipod

  2. As a SC resident and have been working in manufacturing for forty years and counting it’s so nice to see PSA proving it can be done. We can build good affordable products in America.

  3. Something that just occurred to me thinking about that sweet rusty castle nut and being in humid Texas. I've heard of expansion from corrosion causing a mount/screw to drift as the rust swells and slowly shims things out of true. Maybe some rust broke loose and caused that sudden shift at 450? I use carnauba wax to keep surface rust at bay, one good coat lasts for several years.

  4. I haven't gotten to debrief, but I had a similar issue with a stainless PSA 16-inch once upon a time. It was doing weird things until it had about 100 rounds through it. Whatever problem it had smoothed out and it started grouping like a stainless AR should.

  5. You g7s making fun of PSA and those who use nothing but PSA need to do some deep searching in the AR15 world. Your over paying for rifles and are to stupid to grasp the understanding. Awful

  6. I doubt I’ll ever outshoot or shoot out my PSAs. I don’t shoot enough to tell the difference in triggers/barrels/etc. They’re great for what they are—getting people into the game who otherwise may not be able to afford it.

  7. And with almost anything in the world price doesn’t always dictate quality, I mean you’re fine low priced high-quality stuff for firearms cars, audio, etc. it’s just as likely to get crap products for high price so it just comes down to reading reviews where the mouth experience from other people your experience amongst other factors.

  8. So are the budget RIFLES better than ten years ago, or is it the experiential learning/teamwork/optics/mounts/ballistic apps etc that are better? Is it conceivable that improving the ancillary equipment + skills brings that 20014-era Troy rifle up to current-ish spec?

  9. I'm happier if someone will buy a low cost rifle, a dozen magazines and several cases of ammunition then shoot the snot out of it that dropped several k on a rifle and not shooting a hundred rounds out of it.
You can definitely burn out a S.S. barrel that's a winner thing to do. I've got a few barrels shot out. Actually a one that appears to have the "Marlin" micro groove rifling from it's high round count of multiple bolts, the carrier key was worn to point of throwing hotdog down hallway before it was replaced a O.G. Chrome BCG unicorn one.

  10. I had a PA optic and my rounds were dancing around. Come to find out, something internally was loose. Shaking the optic, you could hear something knocking. Also, when I would shoot, the reticle would shake.

  11. I work as a shooting instructor and I can tell you that a lot of the guys who bring their poverty ponies outshoot the guys with the Uber Gucci ARS for the simple fact that the guys who got the Rich boy guns never use them. They buy them as a status symbol and for bragging rides. Whereas the country boy who's rocking a PSA probably takes it with him to go feed cattle or run a fence line and shoots that thing constantly

  12. My first ar was a rock river entry operator. Had cycling issues right out the box. Meanwhile my cousins wasr never skipped a beat so i sold the ar and got a aresnal 106 😂

  13. Thanks for this. I have to say there's a ton of fun to be had in making some budget combination of stuff work, and laughing at the high-dollar assemblies.

Would you mind letting us know just what is in that piece? What barrel, gas system length, who made the barrel, and whatever else you find interesting.

Thanks, men and keep up the good work.

  14. I'm still using my old primary arms red dot from over ten years ago. Have lost several brightness settings and the glass is scratched up but that thing has kept on trucking. That was a big buy for me back in the day.

  15. Henry is very right about triggers. Americans are insane about triggers like they're magic tools. A USGI trigger is absolutely fine, you just have to like… actually be able to shoot. Stock USGI triggers feel easy to me since I spent so much time shooting a rifle with a burst cam in it. It seems nice when your comparison is a trigger that changes every round you fire. Also yeah, "just as good" is obviously nonsense, good enough absolutely.

  16. I have a 16 inch Adams Arms rifle it's piston driven I have a vortex 4× and it is definitely a tech driver. I plan on getting the next upgrade. And I would love to get their 308. You just got to do your research on budget rifles
