I bought a cheap 300blk upper from psa to try 300blk out since I already had a 30 cal can and lower ready. I’ve spent more money testing different ammo/ tuning and finding out what it runs with then how much I paid for the upper already lol. That being said 300blk is pretty cool and versatile
Howdy from Texas fellas. Been listening to you guys for a little while now and you need to hear this – what you are doing in these videos is incredible… and so badly needed. I applaud you for using your platform to share the Word and speak about Jesus. This shows you are true men. Stand firm in your belief and keep sharing the gospel… I can promise it already has and will continue to make a difference in the lives of others. There are people who needed to hear the message in this video and I love how God is using you to glorify His name. Doing Kingdom work fellas… keep it up. And I have no idea if you have received any negativity from these messages, but if you have – do not let it hinder you. You will see that as you go deeper in your walk with Christ, you will be attacked more and more – especially if you have a platform such as this. Don't let it make you pause or second guess yourselves even for a moment. Know that it is coming, but the battle has already been won and you are on the right side of it. We just have to live out our time and do what we have been called to do until Jesus returns. And boy, what a day that will be – every eye will see and some won't like the view, unfortunately for them. That's all… off the soapbox. Thanks for being good men and doing what you are doing. Wish you guys could make it out to Dallas sometime… it would be nice to speak in person. Until then – God Bless and Godspeed.
Roy is like a doctor, but for guns.
Believe it or not, the powder used in the ammo is a big factor. As a reloader, I had to play around with powders to get my 7 inch to run consisently with 220 subs. If you are not a reloader, you need to experiment with different types of ammo.
300 BLK is cool but the prices and availability/abundance isn't. If it was more widely used and common it would be better but it's mostly for a niche application
Supers are slept on for the 300. Theyre superior to 556 for the ranges most firefights occur in. Tbh the army would be better served switching to 300 bo rather than the 277 sig fury. Its just a barrel swap. Cheaper, more energy downrange and tbh with supers better ballistics past 300 yards.
I have my 300 blk out for home defense. I went with a 10.5 barrel but use the Riflespeed gas block which is adjustable without a tool. As a fellow south paw shooter, I understand the gas in the face but have had good luck with my setup suppressed.
I’ve had no issues running 5.56 mags with supersonic rounds.
However, with subs I’ve had to use.300 blackout mags as the round doesn’t seat properly in 5.56 mags.
+1 on trying different bolt carriers. My first 300 WHISPER was a 16" carbine gas back in 05-06 – the second bolt carrier I tried was a tired old bushmaster civilian cut with new gas rings and it ran rings around the JP Ultralight I thought I needed. Lessons there are-unusual things are unusual , some things are still bordering on intangible without the tools to measure them, and don't buy carbine length 300's!
29:15 S&B subs are notorious for being underpowered.
Canebrake is also nice
May want to cover your tats if worried about “OPSEC.” Glad I’m all natural as far as that goes.
Good stuff thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Grind Hard Ammo loads the maximum expansion Lehigh Defense 194 gr subs. They are absolutely lethal on deer out to 150yards out of an 8” barrel with 1:5 twist. FYI. Previously I would have never considered hunting with subs.
Amen! Be blessed and prosperous
You should try the fort Scott munitions .300blk 190 grain solid copper TUI. The tip on those things is pretty sharp as it’s spun down, and might actually penetrate 3A armor simply due to how pointy that tip is.
The home built 300 blackout shooting suppressed with subs needs to be using a normal weight mil spec BCG, with a normal carbine buffer spring and a carbine weight buffer. Not H1 or heavier. The heavier mil spec BCG is more reliable than the light weight one. If the gun setup like I described and will still not cycle, I would be looking for gas leakage somewhere or an inefficient BCG.
300 blackout supers the 5.56 mags work fine. For the longer bigger subsonic rounds the 300 blackout mags are the way to go.
I’m curious to know if maybe the reason it didn’t penetrate when hanging is because there was nothing backing the armor to prevent it from moving when impacted. Just something to consider
praise GOD
In my experience u def need 300 bo specific mags for subs. Supers not so much. Lancer mags work really well for subs
What zero distance do you use for the Subsonic round?
Isnt the muzzle energy leaving the barrel about on subs on par with 45acp? I think where the 300 bo really shines is versatility of the round can go from subs to supers with the change of a mag…. Edit: did a calculator from ur velocities on the video. The 205 grain is about 450 ft/lbs
Amen
That was really fast semiauto😂
Nah, for a PDW I'd rather stick with an AR9/stocked-pistol in 9mm. 9mm is cheaper, and I'm the ranges I'd even consider a PDW for use, it's fine.
Great episode guys! 👍🏼
