In this Range Report I take a look at and review the CMMG Resolute. This is a rifle which is a combination of the AR-15 and AK-47 tries to blend the best of both worlds into one platform. It looks more like an AR-15, but ballistically this is much more like an AK-47. Chambered in 7.62×39 and using AK magazines, this is an innovative firearm that seem well build and thought out. This video documents my personal thought, opinions and experiences with this firearm. Yours may vary.

Very cool rifle! Just to clarify on CMMG's nomenclature: The term "Mutant" was discontinued because, if I'm not mistaken, Marvel owns the trademark. The Mutant is now called the Mk47. The term "Resolute" just refers to the carbine format (16" barrel with stock). Short barreled rifles and braced pistols are called the Banshee and long-range precision rifles are called the Endeavor. And their new gun with the recoil assembly inside the receiver is called the Dissent. You can get any of those platforms in a variety of calibers but the term "Mk47" specifically refers to their 7.62×39 AK mag lower. So, technically, this firearm is the Resolute Mk47. 😎
BTW, this is far and away the best AR / AK hybrid on the market. Those AR's that take the "bent" 7.62×39 AR mag simply don't work with any kind of consistency. The secret to the Mk47's reliability is that they resized the bolt face, it's an AR-10 bolt format instead of an AR-15 and that makes ALL the difference with extraction. All these companies out there trying to get an AR that runs 7.62×39 and it was CMMG that finally figured it out the right way. Great video!
