  1. I could be a good way to get a attempted murder charge against you , and that's the messed up part. It's very specific guidelines and self-defense situations with the very thin line and very small gap for error. At least in my state you have to have have tried every possible option unless it's immediate life threatening or possibility of being maimed ie bones broken

  2. I spent 32 Years in the military and when I pulled out my Pistol or any other type of weapon was to use it, never as a show of force or as an intimidation tactic. I learned that if you point your weapon you use it, that is why I don’t agree with cops pulling their weapons out just for the hell of it. Just because they feel unsafe.

  3. If it’s a bear or a mountain lion stalking me then I will definitely fire a warning shot as self defense. Otherwise there is no “less than lethal” application for a lethal weapon.

  4. I’ve fired a warning shot at a moose and it worked. (Forest backstop) Also because most people don’t train and have very little skill even their best intended shots to stop a threat miss and if the unintentional miss deescalates the situation if you keep shooting you are morally wrong. Nope it is not a simple yes or no. Different situations call for specific responses. Sometimes just drawing with command is enough. However to shoot and deliberately miss an actual deadly force threat is careless and wrong.

  5. I was taught that you only pull the trigger when you wish to destroy what is in front of the barrel and beyond. I have no desire to waste my money, my freedom, or attempt to poke holes in clouds with any of my firearms. If I have to remove it from its holster, someone is getting shot, because it's not meant to intimidate or warn people. It's designed and used to protect myself and those I care about. If that happens to be someone that WOULD have run away with a warning shot, than they shouldn't have been playing stupid games because I have no problems with giving out stupid prizes.

  6. I have been told by multiple police officers to never fire a warning because if you can, you were able to flee and choose not to. This means you were looking for a fight that makes you the aggregate element, and you are now in trouble.

  7. Pulling my gun isn’t a warning, it’s the last line of defense in a situation, warning are things you say like” back up” or “nobody’s gotta get hurt” subtle warnings like these are to try to make a aggressor comply, ultimately if they don’t you have the right to defend yourself
