The Sound Mitigation Buffer(SMB) was created to eliminate some of the noise that comes from the buffer/buffer spring, and also just create a slightly smoother cycle for your action. If you’re looking to upgrade your buffer system, this is a really nice and inexpensive way to do it!

  1. That bounce @ 3:50 is going to end up causing an out of battery discharge. Buffers have that slack inside to cause an extra bump when the BCG returns that prevents it from bouncing back. This thing clearly does not. Doesn't mean you WILL have an out of battery discharge with this, but it definitely gives the possibility for it to happen. The standard buffer system works fine. And if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

  2. The only issue I ran into was this.

A POF 7 position buffer tube.
    I didn't realize it's just a little longer.

So, the 308 version would drop to far in.

    What I did.

Cut some buffer spring coils , just enough to full the gap.

welded 2 washers to the spring.

Placed it in first and then the armspec buffer in and locked it in.

It let's the entire process smoothly work and doesn't bottom out…

  3. Looks like it has a design flaw that will harm your firearm when it fails. What provides a shock absorption at the end of the rod that goes into the bolt when a round is expelled? That force coming forward needs to be absorbed on the bolt end of the rod also or what ever is retaining it will eventually fail and release into your upper receiver possibly damaging your firearm. So what does that?

  4. I have an SMB-H in both my AR 15 (5.56 mid length 16" barrel) and Banshee 9 mm. Smooth quiet action and noticeably lighter recoil in both guns. I ordered direct from Armaspec. I wouldn't order from Delta Team. I've seen to many bad reviews and complaints. Armaspec took 2 1/2 weeks for delivery. kind of to slow for me.
