  1. I just built my first AR 15 using a Anderson Stripped lower, and the only magazine i have for it so far is a MFT Mod 2 mag…. I cannot get that thing to stay locked in place at all… and ti get it to latch up at all i have to smack the shit out of it on the bottom of the mag and jam it up onto the reciever. It doing this both with and without the bolt open. Wether there is 30 rnds or not… and it lets go of the mag as soon as a round is loaded into it… anyone got any suggestons?? Ive tried turning the Mag catch both in a turn or two, and loosening it a good bit… neither has fxed it… I am going to go try and buy a Pmag and ide really like to have a steel mag to try as well

  2. It's a shame that all (most) these gun videos people make they have to show the audience that the gun is cleared.
It's your gun. You're on a video do no risk to me. We assume it's cleared before you start. Anyone that would berate you for not showing it on camera is a loser anyway.

    Carry on.

  3. Don't understand why people mess with furniture??? Waste of money , just for looks…. I. Shoot the gun. Have fun shooting , not just making it look different…. all the same… just saying

  4. Buffer Tube milspec vs. commercial.

Mil-spec buffer tubes have a 1.14" outer diameter at the buttstock end. At the receiver end, outer diameter is 1.185", which includes the height of the threads.

Commercial tubes sport a 1.17" outer diameter at the buttstock end. At the receiver end, outer diameter is 1.170" with thread height included.

  5. I’m super happy with the BCM furniture I’ve got on my Springfield Armory SAINT. Stock, grip, fore grip, new ambi charging handle, hand guard, guard mounting hardware for my Surefire…that plus replacing the plastic backup sights with Magpul MBUIS steel rears, and I couldn’t be happier. Also added a Blue Force Vickers two-point sling (and QR mounts) and a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 red dot, which has been accurate (plus absolute co-witness) plus easy to adjust and bullet proof (no pun intended). For what it’s worth, love my PMags (30’s and some 10’s for Colorado) and the handful of retro aluminum ones I wanted to check out. All in, a very reasonable $1,200 or so. Thanks for this insights….great vid.

  6. A couple of helpful notes to those of us with Windham Weaponry AR-15s; specifically, the MPC models:

    1) Windham Weaponry uses COMMERCIAL buffer tubes, so select the appropriate size buttstock. 2) The delta ring must be pulled back towards you (or "down" towards the receiver if you choose not to take the upper off) in order to get the handguards off. Do not twist the delta ring. Windham Weaponry recommends that you take the upper assembly off to replace the handguards.

    Hope this helps!

  7. Learn something new everyday. I am in the process of getting upgrades for first AR and I had no idea that the dimensions of the buffer tube were different. Glad I got the right one.

  8. Sweet video, I just got my first AR15 and was looking to learn how to change the hand guard, this was probably the most helpful video I’ve found so far, I didn’t even know it was that easy to take off the stock but now I know that too, good video, thanks for the tips!

  9. MilSpec and Commercial tubes have a different diameter. Its not longer or shorter. Commercial stocks can fit on a milspec tube, but it may be a little loose. That little yellow paper saying "stop" in the stock box is showing you the differences in diameter. There is also a slight difference in the cut on the back of the tube. FWIW I haven't seen a commercial tube on a new rifle in a loooooong time. Enjoy your rifle though. I hope it gives you many years of reliable use.

  10. Nice Ruger 556. I had one and it was great. The Ruger is the only factory built AR15 that uses a threaded D ring, I believe. That is the one thing I did not care for.
