I run a 7.5" 5.56 AR and I love it. Word of warning, you are going to want some type for forward diverting muzzle device. I just chronoed it with Winchester white box and it's effective to about 150yd. Mine is a 1:7 twist, so yours might be different. Yours should like lighter bullets more than mine, so it might do better. I got to check out Dirty Bird's enhanced BCG yesterday and I'm now a fan. I also know they stand behind their products. The black nitride model is on sale right now for $99.
