Your example ballistic comparison makes it look like 450 bushmaster and 50 Beowulf are almost ballistically identical in terms of terms of ft lbs. So why would anyone op for the more expensive and boutique 50 Beowulf

Does the Faxon barrel come with a gas tube/block?
Hornady is gonna release 450 bushmaster factory sub loads as well. Black butterfly ammunition makes a 425 grain solid copper hollow point sub load 😈
All 45 colt, 454, and 460 sandw projectiles are usable. Gas pressures are low so you can use the straight wall case longer than other rifle calibers.

I’ve had countless discussions with people about finding the ammunition that your gun likes. Some folks have shot for years and others are new to it. They shoot one weight from one manufacturer and come to the conclusion that the rifle is junk. Well have you tried this weight or this manufacturer? “No.” So then we grab everything we can get our hands on and test. In the end they are happy when they find out it just takes the correct ammo.

If you can't source your ammo at a local sporting goods store, then you have the wrong caliber.
450 Bushmaster … the Colt 45 Maximum. Surprisingly a "low" pressure cartridge, seemingly to reduce bolt thrust.

Fwiw, Ruger now offers their MPR AR in .450, I've seen street prices $700-800.
Seems like there might be a headspace issue or out of spec ammo.?

My two and a half cents on .450 BM vs .458 SOCOM. I own a .458 SOCOM AR but also follow .450 BM. .450 BM is much easier to get ammo for off of the shelf. It's cheaper when it is available. Regular AR mags work fine with .458 in my rifle up to the 10 round maximum. .458 is not straight wall so it won't be as useful for hunting in those restricted states. .458 uses .45-70 caliber bullets which means components are decently easy to pick up. You load 500 grain subsonics in .458 and I have a Hybrid .46 just for that purpose. That is a huge chunk of lead to sling down range. If you are not into reloading, need a straight wall cartridge, and want easier to obtain ammo, .450 BM is the way to go. When I do buy ammo, I usually get mine from Defender Ammunition in Raeford, NC as they have decent prices and don't screw you over on shipping costs.
