When you are talking about the distance between your barrel and receiver the term is called clearance.
Tolerance means the dimension range above and below the nominal dimension on an engineering drawing that a machinist can fall within when machining the part.
You can have a really tight tolerance and still have a lousy fit up if the nominal or tolerance dimension on the drawing is incorrect.

I subscribed, definitely some good info,. I used to work for a manufacturer building ARs. I would invest in a butane torch some soft jaws and a good took pin punch kit. These few items would make life easier for you brother. Awesome job

Cool video, Aero's new enhanced uppers is doing a similar process joining the big boy club. The handguard gets tightened foward of the barrel nut directly to the internally threaded upper putting zero contact or pressure on the barrel itself. Huge improvement from standard milspec uppers. The enhanced lower have a threaded nylon tension screw in the pistol grip to get rid of any loose fitting which wasn't necessary on the 2 rifles I built.
What was the spacing on the set screws? I just ordered a proof but can’t find the set screw spacing to order a gas block

Aero precision is low end? I’ll put my 16” aero precision enhanced build with my 6x primary arms scope against anything you can bring and match it with its .5 moa capability. With a higher power scope I’d guarantee .25 moa.

My wife works in the medical field. as did I at one time. I have her bring home this stuff they use in therapy it an anti slip material. One can wash it off reuse it cut it to size .This stuff comes in different thicknesses and colors. When you wanted something to hold the gas block still Reminded me of this stuff . I use it for a plethora of things.In the medical the physical and or occupational therapist uses the stuff when teaching people who were injured to eat by putting it under the plate and it holds the plate still .
Another YouTube certifide bubbasmith using channel locks. Why not back over the roll pin with a semi if your not going to do it right.
