The new CMMG 10mm Banshee is the next evolution of their delayed blowback system. Why do some companies load 10mm to .40s&w pressure? It seems odd that full power ammo is almost a niche product. Is it some kind of safety thing?

You are literally the only person I’ve ever heard complain about the cotter pin. It’s super simple to use and does its job. as much as you handle ARs, how don’t you know how to use one by now?

I had the exact same problem with the 9MM banshee. It wouldn't eject the spent round and it constantly would jam. I sent it back to CMMG. They swapped out the BCG and sent it back and I haven't had any problems since..

they need to hurry up and make a 357 sig one. All i have is my custom built AR in 357 sig that is blow back only want a delayed one to make it perfect.
Frickin expensive IMO
10mm is awesome, no doubt… but you can rock a 8”-10” SBR/pistol 5.56 AR and still get 800 Ft/lbs of energy with better range than a 10mm. For survival and the ability to find ammo on the fly, there’s no doubt in my mind that a 5.56 is the way to go even in a short barrel.
EDIT: and before anyone says that FMJ ball sucks out of a short barrel to justify the 10mm, you’re automatically comparing expensive defensive 10mm ammo to cheap 5.56 ball in which I would reply that you should compare that to 68-75g hunting/defensive 5.56 that will expand and/or fragment out of a short barrel which will match the lethality of defensive 10mm.
The Hughes Amendment is Unconstitutional. The govt cannot create a tax (NFA, 1938) without accepting payment (FOPA, 1986).
Every created tax MUST be payable.
Ironically, before CMMG relleased the 10mm variant of the Banshee, they released a (you guessed it) .40 S&W Banshee – in response to your .40 S&W is dying comment. Just saying..

So…It does not cycle all ammo well. It does not lock open, with a full mag, w/ all ammo. It does not operate good on "the great glock mags", so they sell it w/ another brand…ok.

I love my 5.7 banshee. I built a dedicated suppressor for it and it’s like shooting a BB gun.
CMMG builds some awesome stuff.
Are there any other guns with that style of delaying action on the bolt? meaning and angled bolt lug. It is very interesting but I would like to see a test of longevity, do the lugs round off and affect function?
Still waiting for Ruger to make their PC Carbine in 10mm or KelTec to make a SUB2000 in 10mm…
10mm exists because Dornas and Dixon and Norma had compensation issues.
As originally designed/conceived by Jeff Cooper, 10mm was called .40 Super and was almost the exact same as modern .40 S&W.

I built a 45acp using CMMG barrel and bolt kit and don't remember seeing a weight at the back of my bolt carrier. Maybe that's a option if needed. They are nice guns.
