  1. I would say another con to primary arms optics in general is quality control. I had the 3.5x optic with acss and it would not hold zero. We finally found that the reticle was loose and I sent it back and got a refund, very disappointed because I was very happy with it otherwise

  2. I still say you cant comment with any accuracy about the toughness, durability or suitability for duty/combat unless and until youve tested multiple units to failure.

I get that the PAs have a limited track record but several reviewers all make statements about the PAs being less tough than other brand new scopes albeit from established brands.
And always with ZERO negative experience.
Noone has broken their PA scopes, nor have they had failures of any kind, yet everyone throws in that caveat "PA optics are plenty tough for hunting/plinking but not for serious duty" yada yada yada. Yet they make no such presumptions about some other brand new models like say the Eotech vudu.
Yes its from Eotech and i agree its most likely much tougher. BUT, noone KNOWS for certain just how tough ANY scope is without testing to destruction.

I would LOVE to see such a test with multiple units of all the main 1-6x and 1-8x players regardless of price.
Just put them all through the same tests and conditions and see what happens.

Id say atleast 2 units of each scope would be needed and 3 would be better.

Put them through standard use tests such as resolution charts, tracking tests, drop tests, waterproof tests etc etc.
And let the chips fall where they may.

THEN we can say with some credibility just how tough this and that scope is.

After having owned my original PA 1-8x ACSS SFP scope for almost 3 yrs now and well over 8,000 rds (actually more like 10,000 rds but unrecorded) its still going strong with zero issues.

Ive broken 8 scope caps and 5 polymer mag adjust levers off of it as well as subjected it to more drops than i care to mention and plenty of dents dings and scratches.
It runs like a champ and has never let me down in the slightest.

Mounted in an ADM recon qd mount and aboard my go-to FN 16" M4/RECCE carbine, the PA 1-8x allows me excellent CQB/house clearing capabilities, lightning quick and accurate run 'n gun shooting out to 300 yds while set to 3x or 4x. No the reticle isnt calibrated at those settings but the chevron works perfectly with the flat shooting 5.56 caliber.

And set to 8x it has abled me to make some pretty amazing shots as well as given me very good ability to identify and scrutinize friendlies from obvious enemy 5-galon buckets out to 550 yds so far.

It even does an amazing job from the bench, providing sub 3/8" 5-rd groups at 100 yds and sub 2" 200 yd groups.

Not only do i feel its the most capable LPVO on the market but from my experience, its as tough as they come.
Certainly not ACOG or VCOG tough, but just as durable as say the Vottex razor at 3 times the price.

Maybe someone will do a shootout and torture test to find out for sure.
If so, ive got a hundie that says the PA SFP 1-8x is as tough as the Razor.
    We'll see.

  3. Open Question… My grandson suffered nerve and muscle damage to his left eye six months ago causing an 80% loss of vison, depth perception loss, and he now has a "wandering eye" due to nerve and muscle damages.

My question in the $700.00 range (my budget for his B-Day this year) which optic would be best suited for his situation.

His rifle is a Daniel Defense MK18. Its the one he uses for our church security team.

Id appreciate any help with picking the right one for his needs.

  4. Lifetime warranty now. Also, if it matters, made in same factory as Vortex optics so it’s pretty much apples to apples in terms of longevity and quality of construction

  5. After recently acquiring freedom in CA.. I definitely am a victim of dropping 30rd mags on the ground because of my inexperience holding magazines of such girth and length.

  6. Some people think that this radicals very busy but honestly it has everything you need in it once you have that thing dialed-in you don't ever need to worry about anything between 20 and 600 yards 800 yards LOL and now they come with a lifetime warranty probably the best three hundred bucks I ever spent on a scope and a mount

  7. You mentioned zeroing it at 6x ? @garand thumb . Can anyone help me out with this zeroing thing ? I’m sure I can find videos on it but I like to hear your guys input. Just bought the 1-8 primary arms for my .308

  8. 1×6 or save up for Acog? Looking for rugged(not nice to my my rifle, DDM4V7-PRO) 300 yard beer can explosions. Currently usingTroy irons. So I can't really see the cans, so… Advice anyone?

  9. Just picked one up on the bay with a ADM Recon Mount for $330 on your recommendation and video. Looking forward to putting it through its paces at the range, thanks for the video.
