OpticsPlanet AR Pistol Build YouTube Version Part 1

This is a special project sponsored by OpticsPlanet. All of the parts utilized on this build, other than the lower, were provided for this video series.

This video has been edited to avoid violating YouTube’s rules regarding the building of a firearm (which is totally legal by the way). This video has been broken up into a 3 part series for brevity.

  2. 2 bad California made building AR pistols illegal. California is always violating the constitution because they never get in trouble for doing so ! Should be a crime for public office holders violating our constitution!

  3. Holly Ball Pean batman … you can get by with a much lighter beater… I done a few 80% .. you also can go to the hardwear store and get a clevis pin to use for the takedown pin dedent tool $.075

  4. I've purchased from optics planet but I think you would have done better with palmetto state armory. Or even better goto cabellas and get stripped anderson lowers and deal with palmetto state armory. Save 100-200 and get better quality. Butttttttttt that's my opinion

  5. For me the hardest part of a lower build is the trigger guard and the bolt catch. But thats because I don't have roll pin punches.
Pro tip: duct tape the roll pin to the end of a much cheaper appropriate sized regular pinch and tap 'er in. 🙂

  6. Poverty Ponies for the win. Cool to see this type of video coming out from here. Keep up the great work keeping us informed, and enjoy your new pistol build. Can't wait to see the final product.

When building your AR do yourself a favor and get the Wheeler pin/punch hammer kit and a Magpul wrench at the least. Cheap out on the rest of the tools. But the captive roll pin punches and Magpul wrench are the way to go. Take it from a guy who build his first AR with a Leatherman Rebar and a lot of frustration. It's so much easier with the proper tools.

  7. Funny thing, I was doing 2 AR builds from the ground up, and decided to take a break to check out today's videos. You just missed a sale on the SBA3 braces. They were going for $99.00 on the Primary Arms and Palmetto State Armory web sites.

  8. Very glad to see this kind of thing presented here – understand that you can't show the whole presentation but you also mentioned putting links in the description which I am not seeing above… perhaps you meant on one of your sites? Thanks so much for all you do!
