Part 1 of 3. PSA lower receiver build using PSA Blackhawk lower parts kit, PSA buffer tube kit and Blackhawk stock. In this episode, I will be installing the magazine release, bolt catch release, front take down pin and the trigger (hammer install in part 2)

I apologize ahead of time for some blur, especially in extreme close-up. Still trying to optimize my camera settings.

  1. Excellent video. Thanks a million. My first one and it's a breeze thanks to your instructions. I opted to paint my grip, buttstock and foregrip desert storm tan. I have the nato kit.

  2. Thank you very much for the step by step tutorial video. My wife and I watched and assembled ours tonight using your instruction. Great job! very thorough and very detailed. I love the way you work!!!

  3. I'm building my 3rd rifle now. I watched your video when I built my 2nd rifle also. Thanks so much for posting. This definitely gets easier with experience.
For the takedown pin, I used needle nose pliers to hold+push down the detent…at the same time I used a razor blade(rectangular type) to push the detent the rest of the way down. I then slid the takedown pin in, then slid the razor blade out. Not as good as a tool, but it worked.
I did use CLP on every part before installing them after the 1st build…I sprayed a small amount+let it drip into the crevices on the 1st build(b/c it was taking me so long+I was worried I was going to mess up). Thanks again for the assistance!!!

  4. DO NOT BUY this or any other Palmetto State Armory upper with the
thought of installing a free float hand guard on the upper receiver. The upper
I purchased would not properly align with the hand guard! I tried two different
hand guards. One was a Yankee Hill and the other was a Samson. I then
determined that the barrel nut threads on the upper receiver were mis-aligned.

I returned it to PSA they "fixed" it and returned the upper. It
wasn't as bad as it was but still mis-aligned. They then told me that I voided
the warranty when I removed their hand guard! Basically…go pound sand!

  5. I used your video for my Palmetto AR-15 build. This is my first AR, I watched it once before I received my kit and then followed it for my build. My build couldn't have gone any better. Even though I didn't have all of the proper tools, I took my time and made it work with no marks or damage whatsoever. I appreciated and enjoyed your video (all 3 for this build) . . very informational.
I think I got way more for my dollar building this kit than I could have buying a complete rifle from the local gun shop.
Again, great informational video!!! Thanks again.

  6. Love your video! This video made my 1st lower build easy to do for a 1st timer. I can't believe some other 1/2 @$$ video has more views than this one…it took me an hour to find it again for my 2nd build I'm doing right now. Thumps up+subscribed- Thanks again!!!

  7. my parts kit just came from was wondering if i needed to clean certain pieces such as the trigger disconnect and hammer? they came shipped in there bag with a somewhat oil coating? sorry if this is a dumb question first timer

  8. As far as the blemished lower receiver goes, my father worked for a major manufacturer of starters in Oklahoma City and they would make 1000 new starters. 600 they would put in boxes labeled NEW and 400 they would put in boxes labeled re-manufactured. You can call it job security for the workers, or good cash flow or whatever, but it's good for all of us. Thanks for the video.

  9. Another great video. What's your thoughts on PSA lower parts kits? I've used one in my ar-pistol. It works well. Thanks for making these videos. It's been a great help to me and my son.
