Nope you did it wrong. You cannot level off the top. You have to level off the side, turret or use a plumboB and alighn your cross hairs.
I PREFER THOSE GUN'S WHEN THEY HAVE THE CARRYING HANDLE ON TOP, THEN THE SCOPE IS INSTALL ON THE HANDLE.

Leveling the gun to put on the mounting bracket before you level the scope does absolutely nothing.
Never used a level in all my years.

How to make installing a scope more difficult than it has to be 101: can literally do this in 3 minutes with a flashlight and a backpack.
Don’t forget to set length of pull and then set eye relief before torquing the screws
Another thing you can do if you don’t have a bubble level. You can flash a light down the objective window, front lens. It’ll show the reticle on a wall and you can use that to level the scope
Try shining a light through the scope from the front (making sure it projects onto a clear wall) and hold a leven on the projection of the reticle
Well the rail of my gun is level so that doesnt make sense

Weird. I put mine on, lean back to see if the crosshairs are level with the rifle. Take it out back and take some shots at 50,100,300, and 500 yards. Never missed a shot due to it being off center. This is way too much. Unless maybe you’re in some marksmanship contest. If you are I wouldn’t be firing a semi-automatic rifle.

I just slap mine on and adjust at the range. This approach works fine even on my 6.5 CM Sabatti that i shoot a mile. No need to use bathroom level on a wonky workbench

Level the crosshairs, not the torrent cap….
With the rifle level a Plumb Bob and string is a better choice.
I think you might need a longer level like a 6 ft one 😂
