Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker went on the news and claimed the AR-15 can fire **60 bullets per second**.
Not per minute.
Per second.
That gun does not exist.
A real fully automatic M4 runs roughly 12 to 16 rounds per second.
An AK-47 on full auto is around 10.
Even a Glock with an illegal switch is nowhere near 60 rounds per second — and those are already nearly impossible to control.
So when Pritzker says Americans don’t need a weapon that can fire 60 bullets in a single second, he is not describing an AR-15.
He is describing a fantasy rifle.
A space gun.
A made-up monster used to sell a real ban.
And nobody at the news desk corrected him.
That’s the problem.
A politician can say something completely false about the most popular rifle in America, and millions of people who have never touched one will believe it.
Now they think an AR-15 is basically a handheld minigun.
But if a gun really fired 60 rounds per second, it would be a terrible weapon for a mass shooter.
A standard 30-round magazine would be empty in half a second.
The gun would climb off target immediately.
You would not hit anything.
The nightmare gun Pritzker invented would actually make an attacker worse.
But he needs that fake version of the AR-15 because the real one doesn’t scare people who understand it.
The real AR-15 is a semi-automatic rifle owned by millions of law-abiding Americans for home defense, sport, training, and protecting their families.
And here’s the question anti-gun politicians never answer:
If the AR-15 is too dangerous for regular citizens, why do police get an exception?
The rifle does not become safer because a badge is holding it.
And the citizen is the one facing the threat first.
This AR-15 ban fight is heading to the Supreme Court.
And if the arguments are built on fake gun math like “60 bullets per second,” every gun owner needs to pay attention.

Public, meaning legal gun owners…not criminals. Because they will have them and we won’t.
Well…he is right. However, not in the sense you think. The C-RAM does in fact exist and to his credit, is not available to the U.S. citizenry.
We shouild be able to levey charges against politicians that are either this stupid or ignorant and flat out liar.
ANY person who takes an oath of office in which they state to defend the constitution and then attack the 2nd amendment should be charged with violating the constitution.

Even so, whatever gun he's talking about, yes we do. If the government had that, so should the citizen. History has shown not to trust your government 100%.
These people don't understand it's not the gun that's the problem it's the person handling that rifle that more than likely is a creation of the Democratic policies of the land…
“We can stand for the 2nd Amendment, and allow people to have weapons to defend themselves.”
There are two subtle but very bad assumptions in that statement. They are indicative of his mindset, and the mindset of all too many others.
The first is that they, the government, are “allowing” us to have a weapon. The 2nd Amendment is pretty clear on that. In fact that is it’s sole purpose for existence – the government is explicitly forbidden from taking on the role of “allowing” or conversely “disallowing” (aka infringing upon) our right to keep and bear arms. This shows he really does not understand nor support the 2nd Amendment.
The second assumption is that people would be justified in owning firearms to defend themselves. No such qualification should exist. Does that mean various firearms specialized in form and function for competition shouldn’t be allowed? Nor firearms specialized for hunting? Or merely collectors pieces that will spend their entire existence in a display case? Once you accept the notion of “for defensive purposes” you’re opening the door to disallow other purposes. Worse, you’re rights are now at the mercy of whoever gets to decide what is a valid defensive concern or need, and what is an appropriate firearm to address that. How about “It isn’t up to you buddy. Never has been, never will be.”
Christ, how did someone hijack an A-10 and do a strafing run on a parade without us hearing about it?
A couple of points. Once again tge so called governor of Illinois is lying and he knows he’s lying. Secondly, the Democrat Party is the perfect example of why our Founding Fathers gave us the Second Amendment, it is a deterrent to tyranny, hence the Democrats utter hatred for it.
Only mini guns can fire that fast. A true machine gun, like an M60, can only fire ~600 rounds/min. That's only 10/sec. An M240 is slightly faster, but still like 15/sec at best. These people don't know WTF they're talking about! They're just pushing an agenda to keep the American people down.
