CMMG owner Jeff Overstreet has released a powerful statement taking a stand against states that restrict the constitutional rights of their own citizens while allowing government agencies access to firearms and equipment those same citizens are prohibited from owning.

In today’s video, we break down Jeff’s statement word-for-word, examine the constitutional principles behind it, and discuss why this debate is about far more than one firearm manufacturer. We’ll look at the Second Amendment, the Founders’ vision of limited government, and why many gun owners believe there should never be two classes of citizens under the Constitution.

If you support the Second Amendment and want honest, in-depth coverage of the legal and political battles affecting your rights, you’re in the right place.

  1. Well done by Jeff Overstreet. This is the kind of action I've been waiting to see; I sincerely hope that every other manufacturer follows suit. Not only that, I hope that every manufacturer constrains their distributors and retailers to the same standard. IF that happens, this will work. If a manufacturer, distributor or retailer fails to hold the line, it's a great gesture but only a gesture.

  2. Now if we could just get more people on board with that. Obeying an Unconstitutional law as if it were Constitutional is no different from abolishing the Constitution outright. And it's not government we should expect to enforce the Constitution. That's our responsibility. Not theirs. They'll only find ways to excuse their own overreach, every time. Which is why the courts are such a crapshoot.

  3. Massive respect to CMMG for drawing a line in the sand. If a state or city decides its law-abiding citizens can't own certain firearms, then the local government and police agencies shouldn't be allowed to buy them either. We are rapidly turning into a society with two tiers of citizens: law enforcement, and a "lesser" class whose rights are constantly stripped away under the guise of protection. It brings to mind George Orwell's Animal Farm: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." Bravo to CMMG for refusing to support this double standard.

  4. Admirable statements but utterly meaningless. Blue states will still make arrests, they will do whatever they want and because of shit like pensions and 401k plans, the authorities and prosecutors will just put us all in prison. Is the only way through this the same way it happened when the country started? Is it time to dump the tea and feed the tree? It will be very sad. Good grief we have problems.

  5. We need to introduce this as a law ASAP. If a state bans guns, those states cannot break the law, they must abide by the same restrictions. No ARs for SWAT, no more than 10 rounds in a handgun. All agencies in thst state must follow the same gun control laws. They cannot declare themselves anove the law. And those that guard them must also follow their own restrictions.

  6. Law enforcement leadership has broad discretion over what their departments prioritize.

A public declaration refusing to enforce these restrictions is an administrative policy choice, drawing a line in the sand to get CMMG's gear.

However, doing so could trigger immediate legal pushback from state attorneys general, court orders forcing them to comply, or potential removal from office.

  7. I've been saying this for years. If every firearm manufacturer would do this, laws would start to change. No more exceptions for law enforcement. If we can't have it, they can't have it. Thank you CMMG for taking the lead and showing the way. Now hopefully we can get others Firearms, accessory and equipment manufacturers to follow.

  8. I've spent so much money this year on my daughter that I did not plan to purchase a new tool.
As a result of CMMG stepping-up, we are purchasing a new tool from THEM… because both of us want to support a supporter of the 2nd Amendment.
    Thank you.

  9. Every magazine manufacturer should do the same, plus magazine manufacturers should not make ten round (or less) magazines. This will force the courts into approving ten round plus magazines, or there will be no magazines available for purchase.

  10. Wow, that's a powerful stance Jeff has taken. Jared I stand with CMMG. Something else that bothers me is law enforcement dressing in military BDU type camouflage. I wonder who they are planning on going to war with?

  11. We need to take back our country.
It's completely obvious it has been over taken and corrupted from within at the top.
We might need those guns for something other than hunting.

  12. Take it how you all may but to be honest the exact principal applies with free congess healthcare and our tax dollars pays for everyone else's too while we are charged that bill plus our own. There is so much wrong with our government. I very much appreciate what you do Mr Jared

  13. Amendment II

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state,

the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed…………Nothing more nothing less.

We are the Militia, and when the Second Amendment was written (18th Century), "well regulated" meant "well trained and equipped," not controlled.
