  1. streamlight– microstream , but i hate the tail switch so ill try the new switch
streamlight– original stylus, but the aaaa batterie are hard to find
quantum inspection light- inexpensive, great quality, work horse never failed me
nitecore tip- great light, reliable workhorse, rechargeable
maglite- solitaire great for looking down cylinders less glare, reliable, workhorse
maglite- mini maglite aaa, workhorse reliable never failed
clean and flush flashlights with corrosion with crc electronic component spray then protect with dielectric grease.

  2. Personally for handheld flashlights I have been buying Nitecore, but as well, like many flashlight companies, it's almost all the same lights just with a different branding on it with minor differences. I'd only avoid olight because of the stories of a couple models having issues like turning on and setting people's pants on fire.

  3. Streamlight looks pretty good. Flashlights are exactly the same as tool bags, and parts organizers, there absolutely is no upper limit to how many you probably need :} I do like the rechargeable flashlights that let you swap out the batteries, else eventually you likely wind up with a unique battery non functioning piece of metal. Would also like to see a headlamp video.

  4. Streamlight Microstream. I prefer a USB rechargeable light just to cut down on batteries in my life, but I do wish you could get a USB light with only one light brightness setting. I like having just an on-off specifically for looking into cylinders where I don't have to fiddle with different modes. As for your possible headlamp video, I bought a Nitecore NU25 a few years ago and it's the best I've ever owned. The thing is so light in weight, a small form factor, and USB rechargeable. 3 brightness settings and a red light. Hands down, it's my go to choice for all night dance parties/festivals and general use. You almost don't even realize it's around your neck. Tiny enough too to barely take up space in the car's glovebox.

  5. Let me precede this statement with this… I don't want to enter this drawing. I have so many flashlights that I've collected over the years that I'm good. I may actually buy another microstream as the one I had lasted for years. The microstream is one of the best lights I've ever owned and I used it extensively as a machinist, which is a hard place for a flashlight to live. I switched to all rechargeable a few years ago and I haven't regretted it since. I use almost exclusively Nitecore lights right now and have been liking them (Rune knows his stuff). I have a Nitecore TM28, MH12, TIP SE, and the NU25 headlamp. I also carry a small Fenix LD15R, the small right angle light that has three settings and Red LEDS for maintaining night vision. I can clip the Fenix to my shirt and it projects the light directly at my hands which is super handy for fixing things in the dark. The nitecore TM28 uses 4 18650 batteries and I keep it in the car in case I need to make somewhere daylight for a minute, on 320 lumens it will last over ten hours, at 6000 lumens it will shut off after a minute or two to keep from overheating. The TIP SE is a small light that I carry all day in my pocket and serves a similar purpose to the microstream, but it has two LED's and over shines on lock cylinders, hence getting another microstream.

For Headlamps the nitecore NU25 is one of the best headlamps I've ever used, it's super light weight, not expensive, 3 levels of cool white light, a red LED high and low, and a warm white LED flood for close up work or fine detail work. I highly highly recommend the NU25 headlamp to all of the lockforce community!

I carry a photon microlight on one of my keychains as one of my back up back ups.. It's yellow and super bright. Been a fan of those for over 24 years.

  6. Microstream is probably my favorite overall flashlights. It just works well for almost everything. Not too bright, beam is not too narrow, the color isn’t too white, no special charger, nice clip, and their customer support is great. When my stylus tail caps fail (they regularly fail on the stylus and I stopped using it for that reason) customer support mails me new caps without any questions.

  7. So many choices. Currently I like USB rechargeable because of longer battery life LiOn. Also many types of LED's and always improving. Today's favorite is tomorrow's trash.

  8. this is not an entry but still wanted to comment lol dont have a fav. brand all that i care is that it works and every time i need a flash light none of mine want to work or dont work well lol and the only flash light iv ever had good luck with is a mag and that was not on the board and i dont think iv seen one in a vary long time lol great info video! thank you!

  9. Olight. I have lots of Olight’s but I have never use any of the others.
There is an Olight i5R which is rechargeable. That has different lumens & times than the i5T.
    You can’t beat a 5 year guarantee.
I think the m2r pro would be the best for you lol
Everyone will have their own favourites.
The clips on the Olight are removable and usually reversible too,
I carry the i5R & seeker 3 pro on me all the time lol
Also because of you, I now carry the mini nipped too lol
Most Olights have a magnetic charger so you don’t have to open them.
    Fantastic video as always.
    Thank you Jason.

  10. Interesting – Olight actually had an ad play before and after this video.. Flashlight doesn’t need to be very bright for most locksmith work. But for clearing, I’ll take as many lumens as I can carry… used to swear by mag lights but they haven’t kept up and besides the six ‘d’ cell model didn’t fit in the pocket very well anyway… 🔦🔐

  11. I was waiting for the red and blue lights to show up as your peaking into the car. The handheld light I use for security is the (not an entry) Klarus XT11GT. 2000/400/100/10/2000 Stobe/100 SOS. It has both side switch and tail switch, uses an 18650 battery. I do need to get a small flashlight for looking at cylinders. It also has a lockout feature to prevent accidental turn on. At 2000 Lumin, it has started my holster smoking when I did not know it was on.

  12. Nebo, I like them lights with the magnet on the bottom. I was able to use two of the on a brass door to fish out a screw that fell in the door. Good for when working on metal doors.

  13. Klein…..I also like the Mag light 2 AAA as far as a good penlight type light. And honorable mention to Nebo brand. I currently carry their Swyvel model, a very nice light for the price.

  14. Streamlight Microstream is the best locksmith flashlight. If your giving away Olights specific in a drawing, put me in coach. All the others I have and wouldn't need another. I have issues buying flashlights (don't tell my wife) she would agree 🤣 Very well done Jason 👍👍

  15. I do use a couple pocket lights…one from medical diagnostics has a toggle switch on the end with an offset working end…i picked it up some 45 years ago from the late Eddie Mayer manager at Commonwealth Lock co, in Cambridge Ma,
Great light made from heavy tubular aluminum uses two AA Batteries inspection light…not the most powerful light in the world…but i have decoded many a wafer lock with it.
That was the days before Lumens, cell phones, computers, cordless drills, when a Yankee Screwdriver and a Beeper was a service techs best friend…love your videos amigo!

  16. Awesome video Jason.. the Milwaukee pocket clip sucks!! I broke 2 in 3 weeks snagging on seat belt. I like a flashlight that you can put in your mouth if need be. Lol. Also..yes to head lamp video. I do love the Milwaukee light. Hunt smart sells some great light products.
