I generally do not care for the safety manipulation when the gun goes dry. Simply because my other platforms when the gun goes dry the safety is locked on fire. Also I have experienced only two times a custom AR going off although the safety was engaged. Which tells me that safety don't mean a damn
I think we need a GBRSGroup airsoft or paintball day and run some 2v2's, 3v3's, or 4v4s, etc lol. With an overhead camera of the field and GoPros on each guy.
Obviously i am wrong, but why drill with 1 round left in the mag? A speed reload would make more sense, before you only have 1 round left… Am I trippin?
He's not wrong. I used to do similar work and safety manipulation becomes second nature. Just another part of operating the weapon system be in a rifle or pistol what have you. This guy was a tier 1 operator though so id love to learn from him.
If they're putting finger on trigger without sights on target, they f*cked up.. That is 100% a poorly "trained" individual with horrible habits. That being said, the safety always gets used, it costs ZERO extra time and is a cheap insurance policy for the unknowns.
i just do it like second nature since from day one i made it so like the safety feels like the indicator of my car. i never forget to indicate because i never not indicate. same goes with safeties.
This is a really clear perspective. Our tendency to clintch is revealed in the process. I would ask if this is something that you trained out by using pointer finger as support on the outside of the mag well?
Are you saying they forget to forward that index/ to keep that index straight an off the trigger hence they have an inadvertent trigger press squeeze/ AD. ?
I totally agree with you train like you fight…however, if you are a civilian; not law enforcement or LEO, you should put safety first. Putting your safety on between reloads is just smart.
I notice there are no backup irons or 45degree irons. Genuinely curious if that is on purpose or if it’s just a training rifle? Or is it trust in the Eotech to where you don’t feel the need for the redundancy?

If your weapon fires like that you either have a select fire weapon or something is broken.

Get your booger hook off the bang switch unless you’re shooting…. Isn’t that 101 stuff? Your finger shouldn’t be in the trigger guard during a reload
Could you talk a little faster for me please?
This is a really clear perspective.

No one is doing dumb shit like that

I don’t understand how people don’t recognize the bolt lock. Like even as a new shooter it’s like, “that felt different.”
TRT and shmediums
CAR-BINE
everything they do is so deliberate and calculated….every motion is crisp….training translates to real life
