  1. White Oak & Criterion are really hard to beat. Wilson Combat is also great. Myself/brother/friends have used these 3 on higher accuracy builds to great results. I've also built several budget guns from Green Mountain Barrels and they are a phenomenal deal for your money.

  2. All the barrel Guru please to make a Wise Purchase.
    13.7 to 14 inches

Am looking for a lightweight barrel but not extremely light weight to the point silencer is heavier then Barrels.

Whats the best quarter moa in a lighter profile?

  3. I believe rainier uses criterion blanks which makes sense why they are so good since they're basically button rifled kriegers.

While they are a smaller operation, Craddock Precision would be top of my list especially if you're doing like a recce or mk12 build.

If you ever source a blank, Paul Ross(the former head smith for compass lake engineering) would be the top top top of my list. He spun up my 25cm ar-10 barrel for my jp lrp-07 and it HAMMERS

  4. A few years ago I took a chance on a Battle Arms Development fluted heavy-to-medium profile stainless barrel that I bought for like $99 off one of those sketchy wholesale gun sites, and that thing shoots SO well. Idk who made it for them, Idk if they're still in production, but that thing is awesome.

  5. I have two Faxon barrels and one Ballistic Advantage. The former has produced very good accuracy. I have yet to shoot the latter often enough to develop an opinion. I'll buy more Faxon in the future if I need to.

  6. Im doing a gucci clear ano upper lower and all eithef ddc or od green geissele build. parts handguard buffer ya know. I cand decide on what barrel probably just do a rosco husky barrel, chrome lined but heard their heavy, does anyone have experiencewith thz new husky barrels? Im thinking criterion, bcm or , geissele also. I appreciate any thoughts. I just finished a 11.5 geissele SD upper, griffin mk2 lower. Bcm mitigation buffer system superlative adj gb and it runs really smooth.

  7. I'd throw BCM BFH barrels in the mid-tier mix and Criterion in the high tier mix. Perhaps mid for accuracy, but based on all the data I have seen, top tier – especially for chrome lined barrels. Don't have any experience with their SS barrels though

  8. I have Faxon fluted match barrels in three calibers. Theyre awesome in two of them. I have a 20" 6.5 grendel barrel, its awesome. I have a 18' .308 Barrel, its awesome. I have a 16" .223 wylde barrel and its a huge disappointment. That chamber in general has been disappointing. With factory ammo it does ok. Decent accuracy and reliability. With my 556 handloads II get pierced primers almost two grains under the max load. HORNADY max loads, which are extremely conservative. In my 556 barrels from PSA I have been able to go a full grain over their max loads with some pressure signs. Hs anyone else experienced this? Im a big fan of the channel BTW.

  9. I guess if i'd been fighting in Ukraine for the past 2 years i would opt for a good CL barrel, but for low mileage high accuracy, give me a SS barrel everytime. My 6arc Proof ss barrel is the cat's azz.

  10. If you want to ensure quality, bore scope your barrels. I've been let down by big names. Ballistic Advantage look great on the exterior but their reamers lack QC. So many crooked throats. If you find a straight one, congrats.

  11. Good list, I disagree in a few places (I avoid Ballistic Advantage barrels). Here's my list of good value precision oriented button rifled barrels (I look for nitrided 416R barrels, if you want accuracy try to get a barrel that comes with a headspaced bolt):

    Rosco K9 16” Intermediate 5.56 Nitrided 416R Continuous Taper Barrel ($225)

    Rosco Purebred 18” 223 Wylde 416R SPR Barrel ($235)

Classified Defense 16” Mid Length 223 Wylde 4150 RAT Profile 1:7 Nitrided (includes barrel, headspaced bolt, gas block, and gas tube) ($450)

    SOLGW 16” 223 Wylde 416R Nitrided Mid-length 1:7 SRP Barrel (3 groove polygonal) ($280)

    PVA Osprey 16” 223 Wylde 416R Intermediate 1:8 SPR Profile ($400)

    Noveske 16” 5.56 416R 1:7 Mid-length Barrel with pinned gas block & gas tube ($440) (+ $90 for headspaced DLC Noveske bolt)

JP Supermatch Light profile 16” 223 Wylde 1:8 Cryo Treated 416R ($495) (includes headspaced DLC bolt)

Geissele 16” 5.56 CHF Factory Take Off Barrel ($200)

    Geissele Heavy CHF 4150 Chrome Lined 5.56 1:7 16” ($290)

    Top tier (cut rifled):

White Oak Geissele Service Rifle 20” Cut Rifled Barrel ($550)

    Geissele SPR Cut Rifled 5.56 1:7 18” Barrel (# 05-3184) ($450)

    Proof 16” mid or intermediate 1:8 223 Wylde (# 143407 for mid length or # 143391 for intermediate) ($600)

    Craddock Bartlein 16” Intermediate Gas 1:7 223 Wylde ($727) (+ $65 for headspaced bolt)

Precision Firearms Custom (criterion blank) ($560 with headspaced bolt) (other blanks available: Krieger, CRB, Muller Works, and Bartlein)

  12. Rainier over noveske? That's curious. I've always seen Noveske as top notch stuff. I run a rainier ultramatch on my grendel and it's NOWHERE NEAR in the same class as Kreiger lol. Nope. My buddy's ballistic advantage that I tuned runs CIRCLES around my ultramatch. And white oak? I have one on my 20" Mk18ish rifle, and it sucks as well. Honestly my PSA AR308 outshoots both my rainier and white oak lol.

  13. Criterion and Geissele are my two favorite for general purpose use. For the utmost accuracy, Bartlein and Krieger barrels cannot be beat, Proof Research stainless steel barrels are in the mix in that department as well

  14. The new solgw mk1 barrels chrome line seem to shoot insanely good. But criterion, geissele, rosco, and I've had good accuracy from even ballistic advantage barrels (but they were bought a few years ago). I will probably go with geissele and criterion going forward unless a beater and it will get rosco

  15. Not sure if true, but I saw that Rainier used Shilen for their ultramatch. If true, you are getting a world class barrel for less than shilen sells them for. I went with the Match barrel in 6 arc and its sub moa.

  16. I shoot a lot of cheap 55gr out of my Criterion 223 wylde 1:8 barrel and it has been a laser beam. They run small gas ports though. Faxon, Rosco, KAK and BA are phenomenal quality priced barrels.
