We take a look at the Frytech / PAMAX MBS (magnetic buffering system).

I’d worry about the longevity of the buffer tube itself.
I run JP silent captured buffer and spring. An H2 in my super duty mod 1 and it’s unbelievably soft. Then again it’s a geissele length gas tube so between mid and rifle with a .750 gas port. Standard vs their small port sizes.
And you can store it by hanging it to the steel door on your hummer!
Could you imagine an electromagnetic buffer kit that allows for adjustable compression and rebound? A loose compression with a quicker rebound would be absolutely SICK!! And the firerate and with the use of a binary trigger? God like!!
We did this years ago utilizing the actual buffer and found CONSTANT reliability issues across calibers/barrel lengths/etc….they will always be chasing a problem with this. Good luck
Honestly captive buffers are the way to go IMO. I'd read one of the most common internal fail points is the buffer retainer pin, it can sheer off and get caught in your fire control group and with a captive buffer you can simply remove that fail point.
rpm under full auto? just to compare with known cycle rates/buffer weight.
More parts more weight still has a spring ….seems gimmicky…waste of cash …still not perfected…cool idea though hope they get it running smoothly.
Magnets are bad for guns. I went to armorers school decades ago and it's one of the big no nos of weapons. there is no chance this thing doesn't start picking up iron filings and then it's an awkward shaped paperweight. you might call it innovation I call it ill advised fodder for the "pew pew" generation. a range toy at best but not suitable for real duty
Some of my AR have a "point" pogo-stick sound, it would be nice not to hear that. That said, springs are tried and true.
THIS IS INASE!!! and no one will believe me, but few days ago i was thinking about replacing AR buffer tube with magnet, and now THIS!!!
I was expecting much more than $150.
id argue there have been alot of massive innovations to ARs. hydraulic recoil system, adjustable gas block, FCG cassettes. just to name a few
Anyone with and ICD (implanted cardiac defibrillator should avoid this at all costs.
When that emp kills your magnets? 🤔
Nerd who likes a magnet thing. 😅👈
Why go springless, and then bring the spring back?
Now run it suppressed and show us if there's a change in sound signature from the action?
So how you adjust the weight? Notice he didn't shoot with a can…
If you gave me $160 and told me I had to spend it on my AR, I probably wouldn’t buy this. There’s just nothing wrong with the spring system.
For those saying there's no use… other than innovation, there's a reason JP SCS sells, and sells for a lot. This appears (to me) objectively better, and for less. Have a quiet 300bo setup? Add this to make the action quieter.
I’m sorry you can’t tell the difference between a muzzle break and a flasher suppressor? moving on.
but why
Aren’t magnets affected by heat?If that system heats up wouldn’t the magnets become less effective?
Magnets can be very unreliable. I have many rare earth magnets. The one thing is that if you do disassemble it, the strong magnets can crack when they come together. This in my opinion is a no go for me.
Why would I want to make my rifle heavier?
Good for marines who want to get lost using the compass
I don’t see the reason to change to that magnetic buffer system, if they are still going to be using a spring with the magnets, what’s the point?
Will the rear of the rifle get stuck to a metal table?
So…a "springless" buffer/buffer spring solution…that includes a spring and no buffer? No thanks.
