I Built The “Perfect” Civilian AR15 (then compared it to a budget version)

This video walks you through two AR‑15 rifle setups. One that I consider my ideal, perfect build if money were no object, and another that’s a realistic, budget‑friendly option that most shooters could afford. I explain what I like about each, what I don’t like, and why I chose the specific parts and accessories I did. The ideal setup leans on premium components like a Geissele Super Duty platform with a 12.5″ configuration that I trust and shoot regularly. I paired it with a high‑end optic, light, laser, and suppressor that makes it comfortable, reliable, and ready for a variety of tasks. Then I walk through the budget build, built around a PSA Sabre rifle that delivers solid performance and value without breaking the bank. I also share what I think matters most in choosing a rifle you’ll carry and train with. This includes ergonomics, comfort, battery management, and training familiarity. In the end, it’s not just about fancy gear, it’s about choosing a rifle you are proficient with, no matter the cost.

Comment below what you would choose for a go‑to rifle setup and why, I’d love to hear it.

  1. Built two rifles, 10.5 SBR and a 14.5 P&W with high end quality parts, BCM and Geissele. They both share the same muzzle devise so I can alternate suppressor. One is compact and I would grab it for the bump in the night. The other is my favorite rifle and would be my SHTF setup. Both run eotechs and both run surefire dual fuel scout lights. I run Blue Force Gear slings on both and I am all set.

  2. Is it me or did you just said… this is the setup I would have if i had unlimited money while showing the setup you made like you have unlimited money? 🤔 seriously. 😂😂😂😂 dang

  3. I actually like a lot of this. I kind of straddled the line with Mine. I went with a BCM blem lower on SUPER SALE, but put the Super 42 buffer system in it and dropped a G2S-E trigger in and have a super duty upper. I run a Vortex Red dot and the streamlight. I run OCL cans on all my rifles. I eventually am going to get an Infinity for my 16”.

  4. How privileged are you when $2,000 is considered a "budget" AR lmao. I just bought a new DDM4v7 from Battle Hawk Armory yesterday for barely $1,329. Besides the trigger and a couple of necessary add-ons, I don't think I'll tip quite $2K, and it came already assembled by people that actually know what they are doing.

  5. Daniel Defense A1 style fixed iron sights on the budget rig, or even on the Geissele, are a good move.

My go to gun right now is a 12.5" Rosco Bloodline barrel, Ripcord handguard, on a BCM upper and BCG. Mega lower that I tax stamped 15 years ago. This is my second upper receiver, last one was a BCM complete upper that ran perfect for around 40k rounds or so. This one only has a few thousand through it but it's been flawless so far.
Running a Steiner P4Xi 1-4 power on it and a Dead Air Sandman K suppressor

  6. I built a non budget but $ in mind 11.5” SBR for $2k including optic. Granted I built it 5 years ago so it’s prob $2,500 today. It runs smooth, very accurate and runs perfect for Carbine classes. The key is to know when to go budget and when to go for the best.

  7. Im a streamlight fan too…I bought a holosun raid one day just because my local guy shop ran out of the streamlights…dude said it isnt a bad light and I am not at all didappointed…with the throw and brightness of the light…its very simple, press it on or off…priced at what a streamlight is…about 150.

  8. Just for consideration, coming from a LE background, we switched all of our rifles to LPVO’s from red dots primarily for one reason. PID (Positive Identification). Even at 50 meters it can be very difficult to properly ID a threat, especially in low light/no light scenarios. Even with a high end wml, being able to ID a pistol isn’t as easy as people may think.

I’d encourage you to go out at dusk and dark. Use your best wml and put someone at 50 meters. Have them hold several different items and see how well you can ID them with an RDS. Just something to think about.

  9. All that money put into a shit hit the fan rifle aaaaannnnnndddd you get picked off right away or first. You just left an expensive rifle for they guy who took you out with a Hi-point

  10. Great choice on SBR with a 12.5" but that huge Ventum at almost 1 pound and 7" doesn't make much sense taking a lot of the mobility of the 12.5" imho, I'd go with something under 5" ideally. I'd also probably do a lpvo + red dot to help with longer distance targets! VFG 100% necessity!

  11. What’s really cool about Geissele is that they sell all their parts individually and if you really want the super duty, you can slowly buy the parts as you get some extra cash. That’s what I did with my super duty and I bought all my parts when they were on sale over the course of a year ended up paying way less for mine vs getting one from the store.

  12. Red dot with iron sights… the thing about nods is for the price you can get 2 thermal scopes and I know they aren’t as good as nods but not bad for defense and you still have some visibility at night with less hasle

  13. My go to domestic chaos rifle is the one I built. My go to foreign invasion rifle is also the one I built. Picked the necessary parts for the purpose. If I get enough likes, I'll share what those parts are, why I chose them and what purpose they serve. 🤙🏽

  14. Elliott. Love your channel bro. I am about to do some monkey hunting in a foreign country. As you know, they can be quite invasive. Will my scoped 223 do the job on these rascals. Thanks man for any help. Trust your opinion!
