  1. These are great tutorials. I was going to say DIY but it's so much more. This guy is pleasant right to the point. There's good camera work, lighting, audio and editing, so it's not an annoying video to watch. I love the tool lists and just getting down to it attitude. I really appreciate this! I already have too many hobbies but working with firearms has always been a love mine. Thanks again!

  2. I think seasoning the threads isn't about just running the nut back an forth to settle the grease in place. But "Seasoning the threads" refers to torqueing and loosening the nut 2 or 3 times before final torqueing the nut. New threads on the nut and upper receiver will tighten down more if you torque and loosen the the nut several times. Don't believe me? Take a new upper and new barrel nut, torque it and mark it with a sharpie. Loosen and torque it 3x same torque and see if the mark didn't move a little tighter. That's seasoning the threads.
You don't want to shoot 200 rds and find your barrel nut is now loose.
Also I prefer a reaction rod for torqueing and removing barrel nuts and muzzle breaks. Much stronger and no chance you warp you upper receiver.

  3. If your torque wrench is at 90 degrees to your barrel nut wrench like in your video then the set ft/lbs setting is not exactly accurate. Your torque wrench needs to be in straight on alignment with that barrel nut wrench if you are looking for precision.
