  1. Got a nightstick light for Glock within 2 weeks it took a crap during live fire. Dealing with there customer service now so we will see if I can still recommend. As for reliability I'm not so sure right now that it's a light I can count on maybe I just got a dud but it worked great for the first week

  2. Both are great but aside from the lumens, TLR-7A provides a easier activation for its strobe capabilities vs the Nightstick which you have to double tap and hold. With TLR-7A, you set the strobe feature and then simple double tap the switch and the strobe feature is activated without having to hold the switch down.

  3. I have 2 of the Nightstick TCM 550xl's… I have no complaints other than limitations of holsters. Black Rhino holsters have a good selection for the Nightstick and they are decent holsters. Great info, thanks. Stay safe God Bless βœŒοΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

  5. I've got Streamlight tlr8 a flexs on my glock19 and 24 and my sig320c. I've wanted to mount a pistol light and I tried streamlight tr6. And with 100 lumens it was adequate for identifying possible threats for home defensive use. And I was mot satisfied with the switches on. the tlr lights. But when the tlr8 a flex came out. I desided to give it try and the change from the high switch to the low switch made a good pistol light into a great pistol light. I had added streamlight protac HLX on my ar15 and ar9 carbines a couple of years ago. And I've been more than satisfied with both. And I'm a believer in weapons mounted lights because in low light and no light situations it's important to be able to identify potential threats. From non threats. My surefires have preformed well. And I've deliberately not recharged the batteries for a two month period. And they held their charge. For my needs these lights fit my needs perfectly. And before I used s surefire 6p on duty issued ar15. And even though it was only 60 lumens, the dimpled reflector allowed it to give out a decent amount of light. And at that time it was cutting edge technology. But now weapons mounted lights are improving at a much faster pace. And I attemp to balance the needs for handguns and practical illumination for handguns and longguns. And being able to balance light to practical preference of handguns and rifles is important. In my experience a 50 yards is the extreme distance for a duty handgun to be effective. With it's short sight radius. But useing my ar9 carbine I can reach out to a hundred yards easy. And 500 with my ar15 all day. It's simply useing the right optics on the right weapon. And for me 500 lumens for my handguns and 1000 lumens on both carbines. The ar9 has a Bushnell trophy dot scope with red or green 3 posts and a dot redical. It's a older model. I mounted a vortex sparc2 and magnifier on my ar15 and close in or out to 100 yards it's effective. Which is more than enough for practical purposes.

  6. I bought the nightstick and the switch on the right side of the gun seems to be sticking when i press down. The one on the left works great but its kinda disappointing. Makes it hard to get the snappy response you want from the light. I guess ill just have to use to left switch….

  7. Thanks for the review! I have a Nightstick 850XL, and am very happy with it. But what I want to talk about here is the Nightstick customer service, it is "above and beyond"! My 850XL fell off at the range, messed up one of the switches so would not return to "off" as it should have. I did not feel it was a warranty issue, was my fault it fell off, but I contacted them about repairing it. Their reply was that they understood there could have been ways to attach it incorrectly, and sent me a brand new one! About a year later I contacted them again asking if I could just buy the battery compartment cover with the switches, at least make the damaged one usable again. They replied that they are sorry I was still having trouble with it, and sent me ANOTHER brand new one! My point here is that Nightstick will stand behind their products 110%, something people need to be aware of! I just ordered their 550XL with the green laser, am confident I will be very happy with it, knowing they will back it up 100% if need be!

  8. Hey man, do you know a good holster company making an IWB holster for the Sig P320 C with a nightstick 550 XL oorrrrrr are the stream light TLR 7 and nightstick 550 the same dimensions?

  9. I've been running the Nightstick TCM-550XLS on my Glock G45 for about 9 months now. It's had about 3000 rounds without an issue and still on its original battery. The ergonomic switch system and the additional hour run time (2.5) is what sold me on the Nightstick. However, I like StreamLight products also, its just with the TLR-7A the only improvement over the original TLR-7 is the switching option as the runtime is the same at 1.5 hours. In terms of holsters, I've found that those that are compatible with the TLR-7 series will also work with the Nightstick TCM-550, this is because they are of a similar size and footprint, this is true for Safariland and Tenicor holsters at least. I know mine is a sample size of one, but I hope my observations help. Find me on Instagram @theexpatgunner
