Is just owning a brace legal?? If you don’t have a barrel less than 16” in possession can you still have a brace in possession?? If having a 16” ar type rifle can owning a brace be considered intent??

I never understood why anyone (besides someone with one arm) would want to use a brace anyway. Just learn to shoot correctly.
So if I have 16 inch ARs with braces but also happen to have one less than 16 inch AR, do I need to destroy all the braces? It would seem so.

What if someone owns a short barrel with the plans to build an sbr but are waiting to buy a lower to register with the ATF. Is that constructive possession?
You brought up a point that no one is talking about. Most people who own an ar pistol have other ars that have removable stocks, that could be construed as intent to put that on the ar pistol even if you threw the pistol brace away.
As a general rule I have a habit of disregarding liers….so that's that.

It sounds as if the ATF Director has just given CRS Firearms a get out of jail free card. If you own but don't assemble? That opens a lot of doors to other items.

What if you have rifle length AR or any AR Stock and you have AR pistol does this mean you can’t own any kind of stock that could be installed?
Having the AR pistol upper in your home can also be used as constructive intent if a brace is right?

Is there any statutory language about "constructive intent" or "readily convertible" for SBRs? I'm not seeing it.

So, if you attach a long barrel, then change the stock to something that is compliant with an AR pistol then put the shorter barrel back on, you should be good to go, right? (That would seem to work with their twisted logic, but do not take this as legal advice).

Don't fight for the brace instead be concerned and fight for the triggers they want to go after. The brace is a diversion tactic to weaken the opposition.
