In this episode of TFBTV, @JamesReeves is at Sons of Liberty Gun Works’ SHOT Show 2023 booth to talk about a new option they’ve added to the SOLGW lineup in order to make nearly any AR sold by SOLGW California Compliant, even with those “scary” features typically banned in the state.

  1. Great job by Sons of Liberty. Giving a solution to our brethren that reside in communist CA. It's really all very ridiculous. As we all know, the criminals don't jump through hoops, they just do whatever they want. Law abiding Californians are made to stand on their heads to have their constitutional rights. That's another topic for a different time but this is a decent solution……….. for now.

  2. I'm an Illinois lawyer following all this (b/c of our state issues), and I still don't think this device is legal. It doesn't get around California assault weapon definition Cat 2 that simply bans specifically named AR manufacturers. More to the point of this product, Cal law doesn't speak in terms of "fixed capacity" rifles, it bans rifles that have the "capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following…." It's that first word– capacity. A modified mag doesn't alter the fact that your rifle still has the "capacity" to be turned into a mag fed device. It's the same language used in IL.

  3. To borrow a thought from a guy with a few modifications – 1. Tar+feather all politicians in california and perma-expell them from the state, 2. Bring in new and normal thinking politicians who will throw out old gun laws and introduce new and normal gun laws, 3. Said laws will include "unlimited ammo caps" and "full-auto for everyone, no restrictions, no exceptions", 4. Rejoice.

  4. Still not as good as a king pin and AR mag lock which allows you to carry other magazines and reload them just as quick as a non infringed AR. I’d rather be able to load a new magazine rather be stuck feeding rounds in one by one. Also, if you were pulled over with this gun and not have the magazine in the way this company has provided. You’d then be in possession of a scary “assault weapon”

  5. A lot you are missing the point here.. the best part about the Compmag is that is removable in seconds, which means that the only time you really need to use it is when driving from place to place or at a public range with nosy Fudds. If you're heading out to the woods or desert to shoot, its fantastic because you just throw it in your bag, insert your own regular magazine, (still shitty because of 10rds) and have everything else be completely normal. I have tried ALL of the other fixed mag options, and although some were good (Maglock with Kingpin was my favorite) I really never built up a level of trust with them.

  6. Thank you for looking out for us Californians, its bad enough that we gotta deal with these BS laws but other firearm companies won't even give us the time of day. I'm definitely picking up a few of these when they come out

  7. "Just remember the second amendment exists and also make it a machinegun." That's what my grandma told me but only do it if you have balls as big as GamGam

  8. If compmag just made their mag usable with BF10 or MA Loaders then I would actually get one. But with it being a bottom loading mag that you must load 1 at a time with no provision for a stripper clip I see it as a range toy only.

  9. So i can have a completely normal ar15 with a regular mag and its am assault weapon while if i slap this magazine alone in, it becomes cal compliant? Asking because im seriously considering this. Cross armory and juggernaut is really good but quite pricey to make it california compliant

  10. The solution to this problem is to ship this magazine and gun restriction crap to law enforcement agencies when they order from you. With a zero return policy. That way they can enjoy the same freedoms everyone else in their state gets to enjoy. Fucking stupid state laws

  11. Nah. I like the product that Reno May introduced, where a fake fixed magazine lives in the grip. Therefore, allowing the shooter to use the AR as any other shooter in a non-restrictive state would use it.

  12. Why would anybody make a legal gun for the socialist country of California they shouldn't be sending anybody any guns there people in the socialist country of California control by the Gestapo do not have the right to own any gun case anybody's not been paying attention they're not part of the United States anymore just like Illinois New York Oregon Washington and the list goes on
