Gemtech is introducing two brand new suppressors to their lineup; the 5.56 optimized Abyss, and the .30 caliber Neutron. These cans utilize the new ETM quick attach mounting interface, while remaining compatible with many other mounts using industry standard hub threads. Smith & Wesson is also introducing a new upper receiver group with a newly designed suppressor optimized gas system. The S&W and Gemtech “G-Vac” system works like a bore evacuator to reduce the overgassing effect of a suppressor, without affecting reliability when shot unsuppressed.
Back in December, Luke and Hop took a trip to Florida to try out the new Gemtech cans and the new S&W uppers, and while we were there we got to have a conversation about the finer technical details with Anthony from Gemtech. Silencer nerds rejoice, there’s a lot of good info in here!

At the $800ish cost, thats NOT that much more than most other complete uppers. I'll be sold if it actually works as intended.

What's the story on that S&W lower with the ambi bolt catch (best seen at the 12:06 mark)? It's missing the usual connector found on designs like LWRC, LMT MARS, and the new DD RIS III.
