The CMMG Banshee may very well be the perfect 9mm AR, or AR9. Their patented Radial Delayed Blowback system does a fantastic job at reducing felt recoil and wear and tear on components, while also making it an exceptional suppressor host. It’s also offered in several different flavors allowing it to accept Glock mags, Sig P320 mags, Colt mags or CMMG‘s ARC magazines.
In this video I shoot 400 rounds through my 2 CMMG Banshees – one is a factory 5″ CMMG Banshee MkG model that takes Glock magazines, and the other is an 8″ fully custom Banshee build that uses CMMG‘s ARC magazines and delivers phenomenal performance.
This is an incredibly reliable, fun, soft shooting platform that suppresses extremely well with both my Dead Air Wolfman and SilencerCo Omega 9k suppressors. The Custom 8″ Banshee build might even be one of the quietest 9mm suppressor hosts I’ve ever shot – it really is that good. Modeled after the c3junkie build, the secret ingredients of this custom Banshee include a VLTOR A5 buffer tube, with a Kynshot 5007 hydraulic buffer and Tubbs .308 flat wire spring. Combining that system with the CMMG Radial-Delayed Blowback (RDB) bolt system is simply a sublime experience.

If you have to choose only one suppressor, which one did you like better?
Would you recommend the same tube, buffer, and spring setup for the 5 inch version or a different configuration?
I absolutely loved this video. Very informative and you made a lot of solid points. I myself love the banshee as well. I own three of the 5 inch barrel models and one of the 8 inch barrel models. I own an AP5K as well, but if I had to grab one of these to defend myself, I would prefer the banshee all day long. Very similar in recoil. Keep up the good work! I am looking forward to your PCC comparison video in the future.

Have you noticed any issues with speed reloads with such a smaller mag well compared to other AR9 builds that use normal sized mag wells? They look kind of goofy imo with so much extra space around the magazine but I got the impression they're easier.
