  1. idk they look cool but they do 2 jobs pretty horrible they do a poor job of being a rifle and a poor job of being a pistol you loose velocity accuracy (at distance) energy and a poor job of being a pistol due to being to unwieldy so the only real thing they have going for em is better penetration and velocity (for being handguns)

  2. after watching ur video now im stuck between an ak pistol with brace and an ati omni maxx ar rifle. i didnt wanna go with the ar because many people said every couple rounds or magazines the ar was failing.

  3. I'm guessing the AK is heavier, but I only know the AK pistol by itself; I don't have AR pistol experience. We have a Zastava Yugo PAP-M92 AK-47. From my experience, AKs are a good amount heavier than the ARs since they're built like tanks. Regardless, pistols are light overall relative to their rifle versions, obviously.

  4. Looking at AR & AK pistol videos I was thinking "I wish there was a direct comparison
between the two"… stumbled across this, should have known GunWebsites would have it covered. Great detailed video!

  5. Muzzle velocity and more importantly muzzle energy drops off as the barrel length is shortened. The .223 is a lighter round and velocity is of much greater importance to its terminal performance than the 7.62×39.
With barrels this short, I think the 7.62×39 round would lose less performance than the .223.
Any ballistics experts care to chime in?

  6. You should expect plenty of muzzle flash if you are using "rifle" ammo in a "pistol"
Is properly loaded 7.62 x 39 or .223 ammo commercially available for these pistols or do you have to calculate & load your own ammo to get the most out of these short barrel pistols. ?
Any rifle or pistol can be used in closed quarters to cut or club when you've run out of ammo is great in my books. After shooting 90 rounds each of these pistols could burn someone alive as well 🙂

  7. what if i was to take an extended buffer tube and put it on the ar15 pistol? I know it would function and i could put a stock on it. But if i did put a stock on it would it be considered a short barreled rifle?

  8. YOUR ak pistol might be inaccurate, but i think your biased. if you had a ak pistol with a full sized gas tube and a longer barrel it would perform much better than the ar pistol

  9. no. i hunt them with a polish under-folder AK chambered in 7.62x39mm. I have shot many with the stock folded under at close range but i tend to only do that if the hog is in a trap. I have the stock folded while walking. I unfold it once the dogs lock onto the hog and I approach it. never really shoot from farther that 30m. I also have an older bushmaster AR and I took it on a hog hunt once and hated it. AR is a good gun. Im talking about stopping power at close range. I prefer 7.62x39mm

  10. Disagree, In my opinion the 7.62×39 is more devastating at close range than the .223 is. I hunt hogs and I've killed hogs with both rounds at close range. Assuming the pistol version is mostly for close range, 50m or less, I will go with the AK pistol for more stopping power. Oh, and you get what you pay for.
