Hey man, I have a tlr-2 eye safe but can't figure out how to adjust the focus on the illuminator like you did. Do you just loosen the bezel?
To explain the TLR-2 IRW. It actually makes sense for military. We have NVGs but but do not always have them on our person. If no NVGs, then you can still positively ID at night. If you have NVGs, then you have a nice aiming aid instead of trying to use your irons since we don't often get issued micro dots for our pistols. I will caveat that handgun employment while under NVGs is incredibly uncommon.
