Hornady Custom 250 FTX .450 Bushmaster ammunition is listed at 2200 FPS but we wanted to see what the actual velocity was from the 16″ and 18″ barrels.

Great videos. Watched parts 1-3 from when you first took that upper out of the box. Been collecting parts to build an AR 450 and debating on what upper/barrel to get. Going to see if that one is still available and if not see what is closest to it on BCA's site.
I'd like to have a 14.5 inch barrel pinned and weld to make 16 inch. Would be great for home defense
Good video men. Helped me out a lot, thanks!
Great channel..if iam researching something for purchase i definitely look here
I was out yesterday chronographing my 10.5" barrel, same Hornady ammo as you, and was hitting 2000 fps consistently.
I’ve got the 16” side charging upper… seems to have trouble cycling… what buffer setups are you using?????
Thanks Buffalo for this video. You helped me make up my mind. It’s going to be Bear Creek with 18” barrel.
Do you think 450 has to much recoil for a 12 year old kid?
100 fps between the 2 barrels sounds a lot, but it's actually only 5.5 ft/lbs of muzzle energy difference
Chase needs to move his bipod up to the very front of the free float tube for best stability….. anything less is a waste.
My 18” is a fantastic shooter. Did have a low gas issue to start though. Fixed and fantastic now
Great information. Thank you
Great video, should have toss in a accuracy test too at different distances , just to see if 2” would make any difference
Good velocity on a big round!
That was awesome thank you
Less difference than I thought it would be. Good info thanks guys!
That is what ya some serious fire power. Nice one Buffalo….
4:18 is this a ice can you splattering ???
Those rounds do have quite bit of thump to them
Were they both 1/24 twist?
Good shooting fun amongst friends….Good stuff….
"He's DEAD, Jim!" (Star Trek humor.) Thank's for this useful test!………………….elsullo
Love BCA, that possibly would bother a hunter. But the 100 yards and under plinker
I think it would not matter. But that's just me :-))_
Thought for sure it would have been less than 50 fps… Surprising!
Those are some thumpers
