This thing took me by surprise.
Better than a Eotech? probably not. But very competitive in the same or similar niche.

  1. Not to armchair quarter back but if you are going to practice bounding to cover its better to practice like this “I’m up he sees me, I’m down” say this is your head when you run. Once you finish the sentence get down so you are not presenting a target for too long. Rinse and repeat until you are out of harms way Good habit to have if you are trying to practice surviving a potential gun fight.

  2. I appreciate the detailed review. A shame about the distortion, but at least it's not too bad. I have something I'm putting together this coming spring that I need to buy an optic for. I'm thinking I'll try either the AEMS or the new Aimpoint Duty RDS. It'll be interesting to see how that does under NV compared to the AEMS.

  3. With regard to Holosun battery life, my 508t on the 50,000 hour advertised battery life setting is much brighter than my SRO on the 30,000 hour advertised setting. The Holosun is mostly a better optic, but the SRO has significantly less parallax so it’s better for piggybacking on a rifle, even with the stupid shield it needs. If Holosun can reduce the parallax, it’d be a better rifle optic too.

  4. This one made the finals but got beaten out by the 503G w/ACSS.
I here they made a better one without the automatic mode that costs less. Maybe the next gun will get one.

  5. Sounds like the AEMS Core is a great option. Cheaper price, no pointless solar panel, no problematic lens covers, but dot only. Tactical development is coming out with a low mount for these as well. Gonna throw the pair onto my Flux Raider asap!

  6. Is that Rimworld music I hear in the background? Also, what I like about this is several fold; Firstly, as you stated, the wide field of view, which is also combined with a massively lower weight than anything else comparable. Only issue at the moment is the lack of mounting options, IMO.

  7. I really want one of these, but the one thing that's been keeping me from pulling the trigger is the lack of a 2.26 mount option to run why my Unity FTC. Though I think with how well it performs under night vision I may just take the weight penalty of running a riser under it to get it up to the right height

  8. Anything from the CCP is garbage, and we should all stop supporting them.

Only caveat is if they start selling full power lasers to us. THEN it’s okay to support their takeover

  9. How many NV settings does it have? My MD25 that works on its 2 settings, until i use my 600 vampire and the reticle vanishes. The lowest daytime works but is too bright without the illuminator. Splitting the difference would be perfect. Any experience with this optic indoors with an illuminator?

  10. I'm hoping Sig or Vortex comes up with an competitor to this. The Romeo8 is very similar in function, but huge and heavy., but the BDC reticle is awesome. However, at 4 ounces, the AEMS is hard to beat.

  11. Btw. A little old… But you didn't owe an apology to anyone regarding your rifle class video. That clown likes to throw punches at people over trivial and inaccurate sh*t

You make good stuff and that video was based on your opinion. Further more no one has a right to stake claim on opinions and terms. Regardless of background or status.

    Good stuff. Keep it going.

  12. Why is it when I see people promoting China's Holosun products I think of the Poem "The Snake"? I am fully aware US made products can have some parts from China. You and Hop have certainly spent some time thinking and I enjoy the channel.

On her way to work one morning

Down the path alongside the lake

    A tender-hearted woman saw a poor half-frozen snake

His pretty colored skin had been all frosted with the dew

“Oh well,” she cried, “I'll take you in and I'll take care of you”

“Take me in oh tender woman

Take me in, for heaven's sake

Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake

She wrapped him up all cozy in a curvature of silk

And then laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk

Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived

She found that pretty snake she'd taken in had been revived

“Take me in, oh tender woman

Take me in, for heaven's sake

Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake

Now she clutched him to her bosom, “You're so beautiful,” she cried

“But if I hadn't brought you in by now you might have died”

Now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed and held him tight

But instead of saying thanks, that snake gave her a vicious bite

“Take me in, oh tender woman

Take me in, for heaven's sake

Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake

“I saved you,” cried that woman

“And you've bit me even, why?

You know your bite is poisonous and now I'm going to die”

“Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin

“You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in

”Take me in, oh tender woman

Take me in, for heaven's sake

Take me in oh tender woman,“ sighed the snake

  13. What if someone made an optic with a simple two position mode switch for going between "saved" day and "saved" NV settings?

I also wonder if they could make an optic that has two dot size option. Maybe 3moa and 1/2moa dots?
