The pro to Reciprocating charging handles are they clear malfunctions the fastest. AR charging handles handles amongst these 3 are the worst. With nonreciprocating side charging being second. Direct bolt manipulation is key to the fastest diagnosis and resolution to malfunctions. I will admit it has flaws with hand positions that you must train to get use to but give it credit for the reason it’s there.
M4 doing so well in the trials it loses every time.

Dude, if a reciprocating bolt handle bothers you that much, how do you ever manage to shoot an AK?
Also, the first time I ever handled an ACR I cheese grated my knuckles across the top rail. Never had that issue
with my SCAR, there is also a reason the MASADA/ACR never got a serious contract. How many contracts
does FN have with the SCAR?

Man I'm an ACR guy for sure, it has been my go to rifle for what 10 years now. I really do think it and the SCAR a better new options than the AR BUT the cost and aftermarket make the AR STILL one of if not the best rifle platform ever! If the ACR and the SCAR were at AR price points the AR wouldn't stand a chance. IMO.
