  1. Hi I recently picked up a Nikon 8×42 6.0 binoculars but the rubber eye cups are missing. 1. Do you know anything about this model as I think it predates the monarch series. 2. Do you know how I would go about getting replacement eye cups? Thanks!!

  2. Excellent channel. I continue to enjoy and learn from your reviews. Can you (or anyone with some experience) recommend a stable tripod to be used with the Monarch 7? The tripod will primarily be used on a Bay Area rooftop, often in windy conditions. It would not be taken out in the field often (I'll be getting a dedicated, lighter weight tripod for hiking, long walks, trips to beach, etc). This one would mostly live in the house, when I'm not using it on our roof. I'm 5'10 and would prefer a tripod that could be used comfortably while standing.

  3. Thanks for taking the trouble to do this excellent review. Why can't manufacturers or other reviewers do what you do and put a camera to the lens?
I live in Malaysia and unfortunately they only offer a 1 year warranty on these binos over here.
Was wondering if you could review the new Kowa 8×32 BD II XD with 8.8 degree angle of view (read about it on allbinos.com)?
    Cheers.

  4. Nikon lifetime warranty CHANGE: Nikon Inc.’s product warranty is changing from the current product warranty to the following:
Lifetime limited warranty for the optical system of Binoculars.
Seven-year limited warranty for non-optical system components of Binoculars.

  5. I have to completely agree with your assessment the Nikon are muted and a little in the warmer side, on the other hand the Vortex is a contrast killer and the colour pop, I feel like the Viper HD wins in terms of sharpness in the sweet spot and light transmission. If the Nikon was a little brighter I would declare it a winner but it falls a little short with the overall image quality
