In this video I show off an Bushmaster A2 clone build that didn’t end up the way I expected it too. It is still a great shooter and gives me a great appreciation for the 20 in long barreled ARs and carry handle upper receivers.

  1. Nice rifle I have a Colt AR A1 IT'S what I was trained with no full auto of course. I served thirty years in the United States Army almost twenty in the Ranger Regiment I retired in 2010.I'm a shooter not a collector. For now it's my only AR I live in a suburb of New York city so they make things difficult. I have a mini 14 and 30 I like them just as much. I'm moving to South Carolina in 2 years so no restrictions on mags and ammo Great video thanks.

  2. My first AR was a 20" A4 SPR. Having shot a mini-14 for a while prior, I noticed how much quieter the 20" AR was compared to the min-14 and how low the recoil was. my second AR was a typical 16" M4 style. I noticed two things immediately: it was much louder than the 20" A4 SPR and had much more recoil than the 20" A4 SPR too. the 20" A4 SPR is my favorite rifle to shot; it's a Cadillac. I deer hunt with the 20" A4 SPR, but the 20" A4 SPR would be hell to deal with in a vehicle and/or a small boat; hence, why the M4 is in the family now. the M4 has done it's job admirably especially on the boat and/or in a vehicle helping to removed some large reptiles. I am like this: if you are going to buy an AR15, buy a typical M4 style. if you are thinking of building an AR15, build an A2 or A4 one. you are going to love shooting the A2/A4, and the fact that you built it will make you cherish the rifle even more.

  3. One of my bucket list projects is a quality 20" carry handle upper. I have a surplus FN M16A4 rifle that I snapped onto an Aero lower (it doesn't attempt to be clone correct at all), it may be my favorite rifle it's really grown on me. I have a competition style optic on it right now, I need to get a better LPVO on it some day, but it's hard when what you have is working for the purpose.

I have a junky old ban era A2 style Armalite 20"er that's fun to shoot, even though it's a piece of crap.

I don't know why I really want a 20" with the carry handle and fixed stock but I don't care about clone authenticity, but if it were clone accurate it wouldn't bother me. I sometimes contemplate a Fulton Armory A2 service rifle. Not cheap but done right.

  4. Yesterday I traded a PSA Mk14 upper with FN barrel and a Noveske Gen1 Basic upper for a mint 1977 SP1 Sporter. My kids love it due to PUBG, etc. Got it from the original owner with receipt and all. Never fired.

  5. Love the 20", there's a round that you are probably aware of but if not it's the 45grain Winchester JHPs MV=3600fps1185ftlbs and is a really great varmint hunting round but is lots of fun with targets like jugs and soda bottles as well, tremendously expansive and especially with the 20", FAST🎯

  6. nice, Im gonna do a somewhat a2/a4 clone as well , my a2 came out nice , was going to do a used look a2 and keep the one pretty but I traded my Cousin the a2 upper for some stuff and decided to use the parts with an M5 rail… (tip , put top rail cover on before installing rail)
