Streamlight TLR7A New Light For Compact Carry

The Streamlight TLR-7A is what many have been asking for. This light gives up the Streamlight name, quality, 500 punishing lumens and finally switches that are easier for activation. The original TLR-7 had side pressure pads which many with smaller hands found difficult to depress and caused quite a bit of disruption under firing condition. At almost the same price point with the new version we get high and low mount switches so you can determine your preferred activation style.

This light is as bright as I would expect and throws just as good as the original. I did find the light appeared to be a bit tighter and whiter than the original version. This is a good thing, especially since I like the more clear light over the yellowish color.

  1. Is this for compact guns ? I have a Glock 27 gen 3 I put a rail on it and I’m having a hard time finding a light I’m not a fan of the tlr 6 look I just want a light 😩😩😩 can someone pls help with real knowledge on compact lights

  2. I have the tlr7a and the new tlr1hl ..500 lumens for my 19 and 1000 lumens for my 17 ..love em both ..I agree lights have came along way ..I remember my grandma and grandpa had that dial around phone ..they where old fashioned lol

  3. The first phone we had had no dialer, you picked it up and tapped out the number, and an operator connected you to the destination if the line wasn't full. My first cellular was a Mitsubishi MGA.

  4. Saw your video a few months back and thought this might work better for me. Just recieved my TLR 7A. It is now on my GEN2 G19 vice the TLR1-HL. I installed a RECOVER G19L Picatiny Rail in seconds and I got a railed GEN2. No gunsmithing. Now I'm waiting on my Black Rhino Holster.

  5. I bought 2 of the TLR-7/A. One for my Sig Sauer SP2022 (Sig night sites, 9mm), and one for my Springfield Armory XD-9 (101). They fit flush with the overall length in of the handguns. I wouldn’t trade these lights for anything. Now just to get the rechargeable batteries lol!

  6. I've bought my SL TLR,theses are so much better than wrist on wrist style,if its worth seeing in darkness a 9mm barrel above it helps. My first optic in the early 80s was am Armson ,occluded red dot sight on my HK MP5,Things are so much easier, but SKSs were 200 bux.

  7. Olight pl mini vs pl mini 2 vs tlr 7a, what’s your favorite and why? I love the way the olights charge just like a phone and the argument is what if camping or whatever and no power to charge? You carry a mophie anyway for your phone and could use that for your weapon light as well or the vehicle, I like how sleek and full with no huge gaps under the frame to the tigger guard both the tlr 7a and the pl mini offer, I think the pl mini 2 is more innovative with the ratchet system however I do not like that ugly gap in the front or the rear depending where you chose to mount. So out the 3 what is your favorite? Fairly certain you’ve worked with all of them

  8. Thanks man , I went and ordered one . Love it . Put it on a G19 gen4 .Keep up the awesome work . Be safe . Defiantly watch your videos first on things I’m looking for.

  9. Please help! You have the original and the new 7A. From what I can see the activation switch on the 7A is much further back than the original. Did you find you had to alter your grip to access the the switch on the 7A? Thanks in advance and great review!

  10. My dad had one of those Motorola bag phones and then “upgraded” to those big ass Motorola flip phones. I’m so glad my parents got rid of their rotary dial phone.
