It’s been dubbed “The Beast”. It is our 10″ Mk47 in Full-Auto that we have taken to countless events since 2015. With significantly more than one hundred thousand rounds through it, it just keeps going. But is it still accurate?

Here we team us with Curt from @The VSO Gun Channel and stretch the legs of this severely abused machine gun.

While it’s no precision rifle, it doesn’t do bad considering the round count.

  1. Resting on the mag on the bench will impart a lot of bounce to the rifle, and it will be inconsistent. The bag of sand would be a great rest, but you have to make sure no part of the firearm is touching anything hard. Even bipods suck compared to a bag of sand. Also, using Wolf ammo and doing "bench" testing is just wasting ammo and time, unless that stuff is a lot better than it was when I shot a bunch of it a few years ago.

  2. great gun, barrel is shot out. All my ARs have shot less than 2.7 in groups at 100 yards. Some were sub MOA. CMMG is my current favorite maker, except for my current project, a BRN 180 in 350 with a 12 in barrel and folding stock.

  3. I also wonder, with having the rifle resting on the vertical foregrip, if it would cant, as the rifle fired, making it an slightly unstable platform…. Just my thought…

  4. My 7.62×39 performs at 75 the way this does at 200 & it's a full 16 just past "break in" period… granted, complete upper w bcg only cost $200 – including 1 mag + "lifetime" warranty, you definitely get what you pay for. Just glad I have something I can still afford to shoot in coof times.

  5. Dude l am 80 years old now…..Growing up in Kentucky in the 1950's l started shooting high power shooting match's 400 yards off hand foe 20 cents a shot l always used a 3006….To win a turkey was not aloud to take a rest shot of course ..30 cal heavy rounds….Your 223 rounds are tumbling at that range you should know that….l went on to shoot on the Army match Team later on….
