With ammo being absurdly priced as of lately, and some people paying upwards of .60¢ per round of steel cased .223 / 5.56 and 9mm range ammo being nearly non-existent, I figured now is the time for me to go over one of the best investments I’ve EVER made in terms of kit; The CMMG .22LR AR-15 Conversion Kit! In my opinion, this thing is a must have for anyone with an AR-15. I’ve been using this for a little over two years and question why I hadn’t gotten one sooner. It is a straight forward drop-in Kit. Simply put the .22LR BCG inside your AR-15, insert one of the included mags, and you’re shooting .22LR out of your AR-15 pattern rifle! This thing is perfect for a variety of reasons.
1. Using your AR as a trainer so you don’t have to go out and buy a dedicated .22LR upper or rifle and configure it like your main build, in my case, my M4A1 CQBR Block II.
2. Introducing new shooters to the platform to get them familiarized with the ergonomics and weight of the AR-15 with a round that is extremely quiet with virtually no recoil whatsoever.
3. Saving tons of money on ammo by supplementing .223/5.56, .300blk, 6.5 Grendel, etc. with the ever plentiful and extremely cheap .22LR round. Personally speaking, this conversion has paid for itself countless times over since I purchased it.
4. Fun. In my opinion, there’s hardly anything as fun as ripping through a full magazine of .22LR through your AR-15 as fast as you possibly can and giggling about it afterwards. Paired with a suppressor and binary/full auto (especially with some tracer rounds) it is truly one of the most smile-inducing activities on the range that I can possibly think of.
Whether you’re a new to the platform, an avid shooter that competes, or simply someone who just likes having fun and wants to save money on ammo, this conversion kit is one piece of kit that I can say with 100% confidence that I certainly recommend to anyone and everyone who owns an AR-15.

i assume you clean after shooting the .22?
