Primos Trigger Stick

I compare the gen2 Jim Shockey edition and gen3 trigger sticks from Primos Hunting. A fast deploying tri-pod designed for hunters, the primos trigger stick is a clever way to get a good rest for your rifle in the field.

  1. What's the height of the short tripod? And when packing in for thick wood hunts, is it noisy? And is it easy to pack in for those 10km hikes?

I'm thinking of buying one, but I'm worried about the noise it makes and the packability of the short trigger stick tripod

  2. Do you like the shorter tripod size vs. the taller one. Most of my shooting is from the ground and not sure I need the tall one. Would you miss having the tall one or do you prefer the packability of the shorter one?

  3. I have never owned or used Primos trigger sticks before so I have been trying to decide if I should buy a Gen 2 or Gen 3 tri pod. I am thinking in a hunting situation when you are trying to set up on a animal in a hurry it might be more of a hassle to be messing with the leg locks on the gen 3. What is your opinion on the new leg angle locking feature on the gen 3 compared to the non locking legs on the Gen 2 and overall do prefer one model over the other? One last question, With the legs open to the widest angle possible so the tri pod can be at it's lowest shooting position, does the Gen 3 swing open as wide or to the same angle as the Gen 2? Thanks
