Sorry but the entry hole and exit hole in the Blank Barrel, are never perfectly in the center of the Barrel… It was not better to take the barrel between two tailstocks and then reduce the diameter of the barrel … To have the entry and the muzzle in the center of the barrel and very important Uniform Tickness… I only seen it done in you tube … I'm not a builder…

Remember your live center will get tight as the part heats up. Pay attention to this as the part gets hot and back it off a little.
Blue chips are bad. They should turn gold after they have fallen to the chip pan. Does your tool have positive back relief? Read this thread on the hobby machinist forums on how to grind HSS tools. Mikey, the author is an well seasoned expert on tools. Turn your HSS tool so that you have more of the point contacting the work. So at 8 minutes in, rotate the tool a little more towards the tailstock. You will get a much better finish and you will be able to take an increased DOC
Very cool! Your running a little fast for HSS. Also use dark cutting oil as well for all turning.
