My first Ar15 build. I built it from a wrecked bushmaster c-15 or carbon 15. I reused the bushmaster lower parts kit and barrel. Got a Anderson manufacturing upper and lower. Then added a Hera arms free floating hand guard. Put a psa bcg in it. Then added a magpul stock.

I was on my 12th build, then I lost them all in a boating accident…I thought about diving down to get them, but at the weight of 10 boxes…I dont know that its possible 😉

Poly lowers might be cheap but they are crap…
That's why the AR platform is called the legos for adults. Interchangeable pieces. Did you ever figure out why your first round didn't fire? Something about building it yourself… good stuff Brother

I had planned to build me an ar15 from scratch. One of these days. I will.
Great idea ditching the carbon fiber. They weren't reinforced with steel like most of the polymer lowers and uppers are now so they had a lot of issues. Once you start building it's like Legos you just keep getting more and more LOL. You know what AR stands for don't you? Another receipt LOL.
Yeah, I tried a poly lower once. Did exactly what you did after it broke.
