I agree with using something that utilizes AA or AAA batteries. I have a Bushnell TRKR 500L and three j5 tactical flashlights. The j5 are 300 lumens, have three modes, water resistant, and only around $12.
I had one of these for years as my daily carry, I too prefer to use batteries you can find anywhere, for most of my EDC flashlights. Its a great light, the only thing that died on me was that rubber on the click cap where you turn it on, Streamlight sent out a new one when I contacted them. Its pretty decent. My tail cap could be on momentarily or constant on by pushing in on the button. If you push hard enough the button clicks and its constant on.
