Great video, I purchased a AP mount for my 18" dmr and love it. It is light weight and rock solid.
Unless you have something crazy solid, you shouldn't have your mount on the rail. That's actually the point of the cantilever mount.
seen a couple vids of those snapping in half on a AR. got me some Warne mounts that were on sale.
would you be able to run this with an A2 style front sight and not have the front sight post get in the way?

+sootch00 a lot of people are questioning the durability of this mount with it's latch on top instead of screws/bolts. can you do a drop test with this like you do your mags?

This mount is ridiculously solid!! There is zero movement. The whole side clamps the rail. Recommended 100%. Fit and finish is incredible and of course super lightweight
It'd be perfect if it had 7075 Al and 20 MOA cant. Not sure that really thin design and 6061 inspires confidence.

Aero is the company to watch. They just came out with an SR25 type upper and lower, so the large cal AR world finally has quality in the middle of the DPMS type companies and the Knight's Armament companies. All I need is that mount, the SR-25 type receiver set and a 7mm-08 barrel to match my current R25 in 7-08.
Man that is one snazzy scope mount. I hope they do make a DD version cause I think it would sell well.
Don't know where my comment went (stupid Google Plus), but I can't be in support of Aero Precision, especially after how they screwed everyone during the panic. I love you sootch, always will, but I draw the line at these guys. I don't hate them as much as CTD or Troy, but these guy will never see another one of my dollars, ever.
Hey Sootch, I really respect you and have watched your videos for years. But if you still have that Duck Creek Armory lower, I'd take that bad boy off. Alot of people have gotten ripped off by that company and some of your viewers might have a little bit of animosity that you still have that lower in your videos.
I'm liking it just for the weight.
Thanks for the review. I've been looking at adding a scope (using a TRS-25 red dot) and couldn't believe the weight of some of the mounts. I did see this one for sale. I might still just go with rings (don't see why not) but if I get a mount it would have to be this one.
Hey Sootch, I'm a little concerned about that locking mechanism. I don't see how a ring that slides into fit would be a very solid hold? That hinge will never be as tight as a screw hold. Can you give me your opinion on the hinge lockup? Maybe demonstrate it as effective.

Well…I was looking at my YouTube homepage, watched a few videos..did see much I liked. I though "dammit, I wanna watch a sootch video!" And men, I'm glad I did! I don't even own a AR, but I still had more fun watching this, then other video I could find, tonight! Awesome video, big fan!
