  1. I have the same carbon 15 , no foreward assist or dust cover. It is my opinion that if you need to use it, your way past due to clean it! I've had no fails at all. I put a quadrail like you have, an 8-13" bipod, green dot laser, rubber ladder rail covers, ultra- fire zoomable 2000 lumen light, 5/8" butt pad, 1" high cantalevered riser with a 3-9 ×40 mm aim sport scope, cut frame off the front gas block sight, it does have the medium contour barrel, not the thin pencil, 1:9 rh twist with 6 grooves.I also added a 3" GRG competition muzzle brake. recoil and rise are near non-existant. I put in the JP enterprises trigger spring kit "trigger only", hammer spring too weak to fire ammo. I love my rig, very accurate, great feel, etc…

  2. I've got the newer version with the forward assist and the dust cover I've had it about a year and have at least 3000 rounds through it and not one problem one great rifle!

  3. For people asking about free-floating a Carbon 15. It can absolutely be done. I have a mid length Troy Alpha Rail on mine. it attaches to a standard barrel nut. the outer dimensions of the Carbon 15 is the same as any other AR. only the inner threads are different…which makes no difference in mounting any rail that mounts to the existing barrel nut.

  4. I absolutely love my Carbon15. I think it's funny when people say they wouldn't trust it to defend their lives. I've had mine for 3 years and have put at least 3,000 rounds of mixed steel, brass and in both 5.56 and 223. I've never had a jam, FTF, or any failures. I have friends with Daniel Defense and Rock River rifles that jam and only fire well with expensive ammo. In my opinion a SHTF situation may require you to use whatever ammo you can find. mine will fire a rusty steel cased round that was found on the ground. And as far as not trusting it……well I bet you don't have a rifle that has never failed with any type of ammo. Me personally… I'll trust the one that fires and cycles a round (no mater what kind) every time I pull the trigger. 😊

  5. are you sure the pencil barrel is chrome lined? I don't believe BM makes their pencil barrels chrome lined(similar to the predator AR) and neither did my Carbon 15 have the lining. BM's website says it's only 4150 chromoly steel. Regardless, good video and good luck with it!

  6. I happen too be lucky of enough too bought a used Windhem built bushmaster carbon 15 a while ago. not sure when Windhem used too make the rifles for bushmaster. but a buddy of mine told me the Later models built by the New York factory are not as reliable as the Windhem rifles.

  7. I bought mine with carbon upper with foward assist brand new and there was a crack from factory in upper I sent it back and they sent me back the upper u have and I was pissed lol but works great for the price considering
